gas spill

gas spill

pumped in 30 bucks, the nozzle jumped, then i squized again. it pumped in another 4 bucks before 2nd jump. as i pulled the nozzle. about a gallon spilled out in a hurry . just a warning to you all. don't do this on tl, it won't take it.

Sounds more like a defective gas pump nozzle. The design of the gas tanks on modern cars prevents them from overfilling accidentally, unless you do a lot of squeezing and coaxing to get more gas in. Even then, you should only get a little bit of overflow, not a gallon, as you said, so tell the people where you bought the gas to check their nozzles.

why did you continue to squeeze after the first stop? the gas tank has a little extra room for people who like to "top off". its not recommended to top off on any car. that extra couple of gallons is not going to be a big difference.

i have a second gen tl-s but i always pay for my gas with a credit card and have the attendant pull the nozzle as soon as it stops. with the cc i don't have to worry about exact change
