This is what we have to live with in Canada these days (1.10 to 1.16 per litre X 3.78 litres to the US Gallon X 0.8 for currency exchange).
Best regards from Montreal

Gasoline in Europe is now over $6.00/gal. The days of cheap gas are OVER guys...get used to it. Sorry to say but my TL is now my weekend only car ....I have an old Honda DelSol that gets 40+MPG and it's become my everyday car now that I can't afford premium fuel for the TL.
In the last two weeks, each fillup went up by .12-.15$/gal....sucks but there's nothing I can do about it.

I just got back from a vacation in Alaska and Vancouver. When I left on August 6, 93-octane super unleaded was generally about $2.57 a gallon here; when I got home yesterday, my jaw dropped to see that it was now around $2.93 at most stations (saw one $2.99 this morning, but that station has always been expensive). Price increases are normal enough, but 36¢ in less than two weeks? That's just bizarre.
I suppose I will just hold my nose and pay it, although I will use the Shell or Citgo stations near my house that are still in the $2.88 range. I could drive down to the next county to save 10¢ a gallon, but that doesn't seem worth it because of the gas used in driving there. (Now, if I were there for some other reason, that's a different story!) I also thought about making the RX-7 my daily driver for now because it uses regular unleaded, but I rejected that idea because (1) its gas mileage is not as good as the TL's is, and (2) I told State Farm that it would not be a daily driver and I don't want to risk my coverage over something like the price of gas.
BTW, before anyone asks, I did not see what gas is currently selling for in Alaska (didn't pass any gas stations in Sitka, Juneau, or Ketchikan, and wasn't in Anchorage long enough to notice). In Vancouver regular unleaded was generally $1.10 a litre.

I feel everyone's pain!!!! I was on my way to work this morning and happened to see an Exxon station for $2.85 for Premium! I'm in the Raleigh/Durham area. To give you guys a brief experience. My light came on yesterday and i may have driven another 15 or so miles before getting gas. I put $30 in my tank and it took it a lil over the 3/4 mark. Granted at the particular gas station i went to it was like b/t $2.73-$2.76 (can't remember) So it has gone up another 10c in just 1 FREAKIN' DAY!!!!!!!!

A couple of points - gas is $3.33 in Canada and $6.00 in Europe because of high taxes. Almost 75% of the cost of a gallon of gas in the U.K. is nothin' but tax.
Also, $5.00 a gallon here in the U.S. by 2006 is just crap. In fact, most analysts are saying we've peaked and that oil should go be going down by the end of this year (and gasoline with it).
But think about it a minute. If you drive the so-called "average" 12,000 miles a year, and you get an average of 20mpg, and let's say gas goes up a whole dollar a gallon ... that's $600 A YEAR extra. Okay, that's $600 I'd rather spend some other way, but it ain't gonna mean I'll starve to death. I'll just buy a couple fewer DVD's, maybe not get that cool pair of pants I saw yesterday, and eat a burger instead of that nifty slab of ribs drenched in chipotle-mango salsa.
Point is, don't get freaked by the pump numbers. When you adjust for inflation, gas is still a real bargain. Be sensible, but enjoy your ride.

Yea and if the $600 still scares you.....
That's only $50 a day...... and $12.50 a week!!!!!!
I agree with what Mike_TX said i definitely think we have peaked out. And if not then i don't think it'll go any higher than $3.00 for Premium. But just in case it does get up to $4.50/$5.00... I'll be parking my TL and it'll be my weekend car.... AND MOPAD, HERE I COME!!!!!! j/k
My TL is worth driving everyday!

Same here. I usually go to Costco Gas. Its $2.75 a gallon for premium. Other close gas stations have $2.90 to $2.95 a gallon. Pain in the wallet!!!! But, its worth it. Acura TL's are fun to drive, so I couldn't help it and just pay high price gas. Peace!!!

Mike_TX I'm not so sure about the bargain part...it depends upon where you live. $3.19 in San Francisco for someone driving a Ford Expedition with a 30 gallon tank is looking at a $95.70 fillup. That doesn't sound like a bargain when last year this time gas was HALF that price. I'm screwed in Dallas, even, because the TL requires premium and our Expedition takes over $50 to fillup.

On the news today, our Gov. is trying to pass a gas cap bill (first in the nation)....BUT, get this! It's only for the wholesalers NOT THE CONSUMERS. They'll have a cap to purchase the gas, but they can turn around and sell it for whatever they want to. Paying $2.93 for premium at Chevron.
Which gas is better than others?
"STILL SCREWED!"

I put $73.00 in gas in the TL over the past six days. It only cost $24.50 to fill the DelSol. $2.89/gal for 91 octane, $2.66/gal for 87 octane. Of course both prices have increased by now.

well get used to it since those of you who voted the oil companies into office are getting what you asked for... This will just crunch the economy by 06. With everyone paying probably 100 more a week for energy (e.g., gas, gas/oil heat, electric bills) and the impact on other consumer goods. Now they want you to still save for retirement, and still spend so the economy is strong while your jobs go to india and china... LOL..
Little did you know that your retirement home might be that 05 TL lol. And they now say that housing is way over inflated. We might get to see our houses drop in value just like cars do...
A few months of higher prices do not have so much of an impact but even if people still pay for the gas... they are going to have less for elsewhere.. That includes bying new cars that guzzle gas...
The station that was 257.9 for premium 5 days ago was 278.9 today. I saw another that was 2.93, but 91 was 2.88.
I smell another recession coming on or seeing the early 80s coming back again.. That was not a fun time back then. But we will get the hair bands back!!!

When I visited Israel last February gasoline was $1.20 a liter (roughtly $4.80 a gallon) there. I filled up this past Tuesday and paid $2.75 at Sam's Club. While I detest high prices as much as anyone, I think we better get used to them. They may come down a little after Labor Day but will go back up as refineries gear up to produce heating oil for winter. I just bought a Honda Shadow 750 Aero motorcycle for most of my riding. It runs on 87 octane ($2.59 presently at same Sam's Club) and best of all gets 65 miles per gallon.

Alberta. Just above Monta and Idaho.
Premium is 1.13/Liter. Regular is 1.03/Liter
= 3.4x/Gallon
funny thing is.. government exports gas in this province. WTH supply to stations in province first then people won't have to pay so much living in middle of continent.

Really can't blame the fella, I can feel his pain. I've cut down on my fast driving because every time I floor the TL, I swear I hear a cash register ringing in my head telling me how much more it's gonna cost to fill this bad boy up (I truly feel sorry for those driving Yukons and Expeditions).
When I first bought my civic 8 years ago, it only cost me roughly 7 bucks to fill it up. Now it costs me $20 and I'm scratching my head in disbelief.......

I'll see your moped and raise you this:
From San Francisco to San Jose I estimate about 3 hour ride. Not bad considering it can take 1 and half in traffic in a car. And this thing uses NO gas and it actually is good for your health!
