Gas km

I have an 08 TL type S. I get about 350 to 380 km on a full tank of gas on local roads. According to the manual I supposed to get 100km on 12.3L of gas. Is this normal

Not sure if you have done the conversion or not - so ignore my sarcasm if you have.

But..... Do you realize that 100km/tank is only 62 miles? I know that I've been a bad boy if I do not get 300 miles per tank.

On a more serious note.... since i am replying and cannot see your age.... Do you not realize what is normal for a car? If I researched a car and it only got 62 miles per tank (3 miles per gallon, or 4.5 KM per gallon) - I would pass.

Let me know if I am just a jackass and misunderstood you totally. Otherwise you should fully expect to get 483 KM per tank.

Im doing the test right now with a FULLY LOADED TANK witch was 71,22$ CDN.

Im now exactly at 267.5KM shortly less then a half tank left. I mostly do local roads and get to 120km/h on Highway. I'll try to report the full result of my test when it will be fully empty, near this Thursday.

Vmt

EDIT: I got a 2004 6speed with 145 000kms on the meter.

12.3L is roughly equivalent to four gallons. So his statement would read:

"According to the manual I supposed to get [62miles] on [~4 gallons] of gas."

That translates to approximately 20 miles per gallon.

Assuming a "full tank" is 17 gallons, then he would be averaging 14 miles per gallon. 14mpg is not far-fetched for "local roads," assuming a lot of hard acceleration from start and stopping.

Not exactly the stuff EPA would like to see, but OPEC loves him.

120km/h on Quebec highways? Aren't you the rebel.. hahah.

On a full tank, using 94 octane, I had reached nearly 400KMs driving mix of city streets/montreal highway [with occasional traffic jams].

Going full highway, on a full tank using 94 octane, I hit about 640KM driving 120KM/H on cruise control about 90% of the time. The other 10% were either hitting 130+ or slowing down because of traffic.... that's with 5000kms+ overdue for service A13 and 1 tire going flat.

640Km that's impressive...

I did 590Km with my first tank when I got the car in toronto.

590km from Tdot to Montreal, and I had some left but the light was ON.

I have nothing to say about the TL fuel consummation. It can give you some power and also be easy on gas....another plus for the TL.

Exactly, try to moderate your city drive and you'll see the difference.

Im now at 402Km and the light just turned on!! still 50km left or more...

Two questions :
1: Is it Auto or 6sp
2: What type of gas do you put into that bad boy?

City driving with a TL-S 6 speed?....400 - 450 KMs to a tank sounds about right. Throw some highway driving in there and you should get another 100 KMs or so. I read how some of these guys get 500 miles and more to a tank and I just don't see how....sounds like wishful thinking.

The TL-S is not thrifty on fuel.....get used to it. It's even worse in the Winter!

Yeah thats true winter is definitely harder on gas consumption......

So, to clarify my results, I just got back from the PUMP....

I did 453km and the "KM til empty" stated 0 ...and I was at 469.6 when I stopped at the gas station.....so around 470km with my last full tank ...more then 3/4 of the time in the city. I guess its not that bad for a v6 vtec.

Im doing the test again with a FULL tank that cost me 73,00$ at 133,00c/L...I kinda like keeping track of my fuel
