Keep Right Except to Pass
Took this picture last night at 9:11 PM in Emporia, Virginia, when we stopped for dinner at an Arby's. Yesterday we drove from Green Cove Springs, Florida, home to Northern Virginia. The tank wasn't full when we started because I had filled it up at the Hess station at Disney World on Friday afternoon ($3.619 a gallon for 93 octane even on Disney property!). Two fuel stops on the way home—one in Walterboro, South Carolina, and another in Hopewell, Virginia, about an hour after I took this picture. You can see where my fuel gauge was reading when I took this picture.
For the majority of the trip I had the cruise control set at 75 mph. Had it pegged spot-on 70 through Ridgeland, SC, which is a notorious speedtrap town (indeed they had three cop cars out on I-95 and a cop standing on an overpass running radar and calling ahead saying whom to pull over), and I had a few good runs at 81 mph through parts of North Carolina when the traffic was going faster, but for the most part I kept it to 75 because I like having low insurance premiums and 75 in a 70 zone won't get you pulled over except maybe in Ridgeland! Proverbial bottom line, the TL LOVES THE HIGHWAY!!!!

On average I put on about 1000-1500 miles a week traveling for my job. Most of it is Highway miles but I average 27-28mpg and 350+ miles on a full tank of gas. I use Shell 93 because they have the deal with using my Bi-Lo shopping card. I have filled up with other gas company's before and honestly never noticed a difference in mpg. I prefer Shell tho because of my Bi-Lo perk that can save me $.10+ per gallon and with as much driving as I do it saves me a good amount of money.

I have proven (to myself) over the course of multiple trials with different vehicles that (everything else being the same) using Shell (v-power) causes me to fill up more often than when using Sunoco 93. So the TL gets to indulge on Sunoco 93 liquid gold..

all i've ever used, all my Pop's used. our 260k+ mile 98 v6 accord still has ALL the stock fuel components. 2nd set of plugs. i think that proves BP does something right, since it changed my uncle's(ase master tech, honda master tech, winner of Honda sponsored employee competition for trans R&R) mind over Pop's claim on BP being BestPetroleum....it did take 10 years to do so though.
