GAs.....

I searched for it didn't find a thread similar if there already is a thread lock and gimme link please..

I seem to run out of ass quick with my 07 type s... 40 bucks filled up a full tank with 91 gas.. But jesus I drove it for like 30 miles and im at like 60 % gas left...

Does everyone else have this gas guzzling problem. I know if I just dont punch the car at all I will get good mpg but cmon. My mom has E 320 bigger tank of course and i rape that car day in and day out lasts me a good time.. But i fill up $ 60 bucks worth for that car.

Slow down. Both you and the gas will last longer. I get about 23 mpg in town and 32 on freeways. I will goose the car now and then, but not as a steady habit.

Relatively small gas tank+High output V6+17yearold heavy foot=downright shitty gas mileage.

What's the rush?

I have not looked at the book to see when the gas light comes in, but when mine came on, I am only able to fit 12.x gallons of gas in. That means it comes on with 4+ gallons left?

The TL's gauge does move quicker than my Impreza's which does not budge off of F till I go ~80 miles.

I can get close to 350 miles on a tank with mixed city/highway driving.

I think about 4 gallons is right.

I just came from an STi to the TL-S and found the same about the Acura gas guage.

I use Shell V-Power premium gas. Been getting between 28-29 mile per gallon with mostly highway driving (55-65 mph).

My gas gauge moves at a horrific pace..

I don't drive really hard; my avg mpg is 23 - 27; but after 60 - 70 miles i'm down to 3/4 tank and it makes me a little sad knowing I have to fill up again in a day.

I believe i'm close to a 1/2 tank right now - having driven about 180 miles, and the Miles to Empty says ~150-170 if I remember correctly from last night

You are correct.

Also, California gas maxes out at 91 octane unless you purchase race fuel.

Burning a higher octane than 91 won't increase performance anyways, unless you change your compression, timing, fuel maps, etc.

Poor gas mileage for a new TL seems to be a recurring thread here. Or at least seems like it is....

Driving in the city, my 06 TL gets around 19-20MPG. On the highway, I get 32-33MPG. I never had any problems with low gas mileage during the break-in period.

But in your case, being down 60% after driving 30 miles (and assuming roughly that the fill-up light comes on when you've used around 14 gallons), you're talking 5.6 gallons or 5.35 MPG. So like trancemission said, either check your numbers or your right foot.

At WOT, you can almost watch the fuel needle go down. And, as mentioned, don't "cruise" at high rpm, upshift instead. In general you want to "cruise" at ~2,000 - ~2,500 rpm - even when stuck behind some little old lady doing 30 in a 35.

from what I have heard on my year on the forum, the factory fill oil has additives in it which somehow cause the car to slurp up more gas during the first oil. As well, it mentioned somewhere here that you won't get to VTEC until you get the factory fill out. SO don't punch it and beat everyone off the line.

kid's young. he'll figure soon enough that going fast isn't all that cool and raping the car only harms himself. maybe on top of those things a few speeding tickets will make him calm down.

I know myself I had a 30mph over the limit ticket and illegal u-turn and passing a red light (I made a U-turn AT the red light). haha we all do stupid things when we're young. make friends with the gas pedal, enjoy the gearshifts, and familiarize yourself with the right lane and the cruise button.

Oh ya thinks for wishing me some speeding tickets.. First of all I go by the speed limits on street just sometimes accelerate. Second of all I cruise on the freeway pointless to cruise on the dam streets..... I go 70 on the freeway 75 cruising....

Yes My cousin just bought another TL TODAY and he is getting the same problem and he is like im not even gunning it....

So wth is this.. Not just my problem seems to have happend to two more people..

He is like my dads expedition doesnt go down as fast as this... Given that the expedition does have a bigger tank but still...

This is ridiculous..

then get rid of the car dude. jeezuss. I cant believe Im reading this shit.

Im gettting over 300 miles to a tank mostly on the highway and Im ok with that.

You knew the mileage you would get before you bought it so just drop it already.

You act as if WE are acura and your talking to Acura customer services here.

Plus you start a thread a day now. Ifs it not one thing its another.......

Like I said, why dont you think before you start the next thread. To me you're sounding like a whining little baby at the momoent....

My patience with you is beginning to fade...
