Gahh! I'm a dumbass

So today i was in a rush to get to class today that I just pulled up to the parking spot and turned off the key right away without putting it back to Park, I was in Drive. After 5 seconds I was like Crap and turned the key back on right away, but it wouldnt start so i put in in Neutral and turned the car on successfully. Then after that I drove the car home and around and everything seems normal no problem at all. It's the second time I've done that. Still a student so I would not want to spend a load of money on a tranny (no, i meant a transmission ).
You guys think that would do any damage to the tranny or engine ? So far it drives just like before.

You could fix that problem by getting a manual!

Don't quote me on this but I think there is a lockout when your car is in motion so you can't put your car in reverse. You should give it a try and let us know if there is a lockout

Same here... but chances are slim to none of getting a used 3G 6 spd TL with low mileage.

My good friends little sister decided to have a little parking lot joyride in my TL. Instead of pressing the brakes, and shifting to park. She threw it in park while the car was still moving around 5 mphs.. that grinding hurt my ears. Which i'm pretty sure was a really good reason why my transmission failed soon afterwards lol

Coming from driving a stick for 5 years, Ive caught myself doing this 3-4 times. I don't see why anything would get hurt, you can just shift it to park while the car is off.
