g37 sedan vs e46 m3

had couple runs witha buddies e46 hardtop m3 smg with exhaust. highway pull from around 60mph-110mph. we honked 3 times the first race i had it in DS mode and my car took like a half second to downshift so he got the jump n stayed ahead took me by a half car. the second run i manually shifted it into 3rd gear and was ready after the 3rd honk this time we were neck and neck the whole time.

love that e46 m3 it is a beast one of my all time fav car

Ever track it? The more i am reading about these G37 sedans, the quicker they seem to be. Sounds like a stock one would be a good run for me.

I've never seen one run, but the S sedan has trapped 104-105, mid 13's in a couple mag road tests. They move pretty well. Not surprised it stuck with the M3.

i wasnt able to go track this year but i will when spring time rolls around. i think i will probably get a good time because the track here is almost at sealevel just about 20 feet above and ill make sure to go with my stock 18's.

ill try to get my buddy with e46 to come too but i think hell probably take me from a dig since he has launch control on his car

yes mid 13's is possible with this car. ive seen on dragtimes a bunch of g35 07-08 sedan getting 13.5 with exhaust or intake mods.

i hope to some day be able to run 13's flat after full bolt ons and tune

13 flat can be done with IS350 with no exhaust or engine mods. Just a light set of wheels and low tank of gas some light braketorque launching and there.

The problem with the G37 is the weight. Too heavy. Is yours stick or automatic?

Then why is a stock G37 pulling on a stock IS350 in this video?

I really like the IS350 and the G37. But 13.0 isn't happening for the IS stock even with light wheels. No doubt the car screams though for what it is, but the top end goes to the G37. Off the line its a dead heat(driver dependent). I have seen 13.2 with I/E mods on the IS350, but 13.0 stock has NEVER happened.

LOL, IS 350 falling back like a Civic. They're quick to about 90 mph, but their deep gearing hurts them after that. Even a stock Type-S 6MT and G35 are faster from 90-120 and above, according to the Road & Track test of the three cars. The IS was the quickest in the quarter though.

130 lbs heavier with 22 more horsepower than an IS 350. Try to stay with us.

Light wheels & a low tank of gas is all it takes to shave .7 to a full second off a quarter mile.
