G-106: DRL off when idling at night on TL-S??
I was picking this chick up from her parents house a few days ago. Im trying to be ninja about it so I park across her house and turn my lights off but when I did that the friggin DRL's came on. I tried everything that I could think off to turn the DRL's off but I couldnt figure out if I am able to do that on my TL-S. I ended up having to turn the car off which was the last thing I wanted to do because I was afraid that cranking the car might wake the old lady up. Luckily she didnt and I went on about my night, but am I missing something here, is there a way to turn the DRL's off at all? I dont mind during the day but at night it would help. In the 2 years that I have owned the car I have never had the need to turn off the lights and sit in the car so I just noticed this

Yeah when the car is off with the e-brake up they wont turn on but if you have already moved the car I dont think there is a way to turn them off. On my moms subaru if you pull the e-brake up at any time the DRLS will turn off.

Ok, next time: Car in neutral, shut off the car, pull ebrake up just enough to get the switch to go off, but not enough to actually slow the car much, restart the engine, coast to your spot and fully set the ebrake.
Now that would be ninja.
Oh, and stop dating 14 year olds.

personally, i hate drl's. (luckily the '04 does not have them) in my last two cars that had them, i was able to bypass the drl module. I dont have a wiring schematic for the 07-08 tl-s, so i am not too sure but the way i did it before was to short out the two wires coming from the light sensor, usually this is located on the dash. Most sensors will open the circuit when it senses light and close when it is dark. (like the street lights). If i had the wiring diagram for this i would be able to confim it, for right now, that is the only thing i can think of.

guy's all cars have the DRL's. The DRL's are connected to a switch in the parking brake assembly. The minute you engage the hand parking brake the DRL's come on but once you turn the headlights on the DRL's turn off. Don't be mistaken that DRL's are not the fog lights. These are two different circuits. No matter what you do they will stay on unless you turn off the engine. but make sure that the hand parking brake is engaged, if it's not engaged the DRL's will turn on again. Oh and by the way it is now law in many states and in canada that you cannot disconnect the DRL's.

A relay switch would be the way to go as others have mentioned (assuming you don't want to pull the fuse or restart your car).
