I only saw 1 green wire in the wire loom right behind the brake filler res.
The only part I did wrong was taking the casing off of the steering column.
I guess I broke the clips some how because now there is a gap where the top and bottom come together.
There are also some little pieces of black plastic on my floor board.
That sucked but the lights are working!!!!
Thanks Roger555

Well I've screwed up majorly, somehow I have shorted wires out and now my parking lights stay on and my headlights do not work at all.. I've put everything as far as modding the fog light switch back to stock, and still nothing. I've checked all fuses and no blown fuses and even reset the ECU. HELP!

There are 2 fuse boxes to check---one in the driver's side footwell and the other underhood. I believe you are looking in the underhood for the headlight fuse, but there may be another. I only have the manual for an 06 and I presume you are an 05, given your screen name. But the diagrams and info presented here are for 06 only. They may apply to you, but some of the wire colors may have changed between years. Made for a real bitch when I was installing my door sills.
OP made a disclaimer. Everyone should use a tester/multimeter to confirm their wiring before completing this mod--especially if they do not own an 06. Caveat Emptor!

This happened to me when I forgot to reconnect the harness in step 2.

I stopped at Step 5:
"Now at this point you have bypassed the control unit and now have complete control of your fog lights, BUT you would need to remember to turn them off because they would stay on even with the car off. So we need to give this relay a different switched power source."
Cuz on Step 6, there is more than 1 green wire...2 solid green, green w/white stripe & a green w/yellow stripe. I test all the green wires with a multimeter and the green w/yellow stripe had the 12v with the ignition turned on. I have a 2004 TL.

Good to know this should help others with a 2004 all your looking for is a 12v switched power source your not drawing power from this line to run your fogs you can use power from your turn signals etc. The only reason I used the green wiper wire is because that is what everyone used when they installed the DRL module so I knew it was there. However by hooking this particular wire up to the "wrong" green wire I really don't see any way this could do any damage it would simply not work.

His car was a 04 like mine...so I guess it's different on a 06? Anyways, I checked the circuit diagram in the manual and the green w/yellow stripe wire is for the washer motor going to a 7.5a fuse (under-dash fuse box). The thick green wire is for the wiper motor going to a 30a fuse (under-dash fuse box). I will be tapping into this green wire.

YES!!, I grew some balls and actually did my first electrical mod! took me 1 hour yesturday. I would have done it the day before, but the reality of me cutting wires and f*ing up my electrical was getting to me. But then, my wife told me to stop being a bitch and just do it! the worst that would of happened is just replacing a couple of wires and having an expert do it.
but I did it, and ROGER's THE BEST!
although it was a bitch to take off the steering wheel cover, and the black box in the engine part, and finding that hole in the middle of the car was a bitch, and I burnt my self like 10 times, it was worth it! if I could do it again, it would be a snap when u know what your doing.

No pic's, it was raining out so I didn't want bad quality pics, and my camara messing up. but this mod is pretty easy when you finally figure out what your doing. I'ma switch out my fogs and put in some Nokya artic white bulbs today, I'll take some pics.

Awesome write up! Will it shut off when you turn on the head lights on normal beam? You said it will stay on for High beam...just curious. I think with normal driving at night i would just like the main lights to be on, but your way would make it an awesome day time running lights!

Hey man very sorry your having issues. I am looking through you pics and it seems like you have the correct wires tapped but I really have no idea if they are connected correctly according to the diagram. What year do you have? Where exactly do you get this reading of 1.8?
#80
Remember the blue/white wire is a ground wire. Are you hooking up the blue/white wire to the (+) of the voltmeter then the (-) to the frame? If so thats why you are getting 1.8v technically its not supposed to register anything. Test for power at the green wire placing the (+) on the volt meter and the (-) to the frame with the keys in the ignition turned to the accessory position to see if your are getting 12V from this line. Also check your fuse box to see if you accidentally blew any fuses I have no idea why your VSA would be affected.
