On front page it says use the 40 amp your relay harness came with. Mine came with a 20 amp.
You could have a loose wire / short on that side?? Maybe wires backwards??
My relay harness will need to be extended like a mofo, anyone else run into that??
The relay and under dash wires should be ok but I will have to extend the wires going to the ballasts by about 6 foot for a clean install.
I am not concerned about it but just bringing that up for a possible discussion.

My harness came with 20amp. What amp should i use for the mini add on fuse under the driver sidr fuse box. #11 is my wiper which is 30amp.I remove it n add the mini add on fuse which i have to add two fuse.

I would say use the lowest you can without having problems. You don't wanna have a 40 amp fuse and only need a 20 or so. That way if you do have an electrical problem then the fuse will save other components.

I do understand that my question has nothing to do with the big picture of this thread. However, the picture I replied to came from this thread (Post #40, with no scolding afterwards). My question was in regaurds to post #40. I am not the type to post stuff that doesn't belong. BUT, since this post was already in the thread, i simply replied with my question.
Secondly, I can't PM, I don't have the authorizaiton to do so.
Thirdly, I would have PM'd to the user of Post #40 (given I could actually use the PM function.) Disclaimer, finished.
Just finished this and other than red wire coming off battery you would never see 1 wire in my setup.
Works flawlessy other than some cheap plugs that don't stay fastened the way I like. Gonna work on that.
Plasti-dipped my lower valances while had bumper off. Awesome mod and glad I finally did it.
Now to swap headlight housings and add an ijdmtoy led switch for my DRL's.

K I really feel like a retard asking this question but oh well. I have a basic 07 TL. The headlights seem like there HID. Someone was telling me the stock fog lights are already HID... Can someone please clarify for me
Ok I have a bit of an issue... I have had this mod done for like 2-3 years already. just a couple months ago my fogs stopped working. Today I had the time to check everything and I find that all the fuses are good the ballasts to my hids are good and so are the bulbs. The relay plug end on the hid harness does have some rust but I can still get a reading that there is power getting there. I think the only other problem is the switch in the stalk. no one has touched any wires for this to go bad so I don't know what else to check. how can I check to see if the switch on the stalk actually went bad?
You would need the Acura ETM (electronic troubleshooting manual) or if the service manual has instructions to test the circuit.

i'll check my manual otherwise I'm going to get a new harness and try that as well. maybe I'll just pull new wiring too to be on the safe side.
so there's two wires that need to be routed to the interior. one goes to the fuse box and the other taps into the blue wire behind the steering wheel.

^Exactly, I just kept the harness in the engine bay and ran two additional wires from the interior to the harness. The harness alone will not reach the interior
What i did was tape about 6 inches of an old metal straightened hanger to the two wires and pushed them through that rubber plug down in the foot well to the over to the left. I then was able to stick my hand down the engine bay and grab the hanger taped to the wires and then pulled the wires through.

I have the same question on this old thread!!! or by add a fuse do u guys mean a fuse tap and just tap off the 30amp which is existing on #11?
I also only ran 2 wires into my car and left the relay harness in the engine bay. I used a metal coat hanger and right behind and up from the gas pedal there is a grommet that you can poke a hole in. It should be around middle of your firewall just on the drivers side and about 1/3 the way down from the top.
The add a fuse is a kit from O-reilly's that you buy. You can buy a big fuse or a smaller fuse kit. I believe you need the smaller style fuse version. Remove the fuse, install add-a-fuse, re-install original fuse and then add another fuse that will tie into the wire you are adding.
Too bad the photos don't work, there was some great illustration to it as far as the wire in the steering column and the fuse install.

This is how your new relay harness will look like. Some come with a blue wire while others come with a red trigger wire. When I say "Trigger" wire that is the wire that gets the signal to activate the relay to give power to the ballasts.
In our scenario (2007-2008 Base and TLS) since our cars come factory with fog lights already, we will be wiring up the trigger wire to the wire that is located behind the steering column. You'll see it in the pictures below
The trigger wire in the relay harness pictured is the one that has a female connector. You'll see 2 male connectors and 1 female. The female connector is the one that will be used to wire to the fog light switch. One is ground other is power.
Remove the lower knee panel to get more room

In this picture you will see that he's pointing to a connector behind the steering column. Use the ignition as reference so you can see where he's pointing. It's a little small block. Disconnect it.
Once you have it disconnected look for a BLUE WIRE with a WHITE STRIPE. Cut that wire like you see below.
Now you want to remove some of the insulation. Grab yourself some wire strippers and strip back the insulation a bit. About 1 - 1.5 inches should be good. It's up to you really.

Last step is to hook up the positive and negative wires from the relay harness to the battery...
Oh and you will need extra wiring because you need to fish the two wires into the cabin. The 2 trigger wires coming from the relay harness isn't long enough. You'll have to find a location that you can feed the wires through as well as make the wires even longer so you can tap into fuse #11 of the interior kick panel and the fog light switch.
