FYI-Detriot Auto show 2008
Interesting what's going to be happening for Acura. This is a blurb from Edmunds Inside line. I wonder which models, MDX, RDX, RL, TL, or TSX? Likely MDX or RL. It would be sweet if it's in the new AWD TL. That's better mpg due to the added weight of the AWD system. I copy and pasted the short text for those interested:
2008 Detroit Auto Show: Clean Diesel Will Debut in 2009 Acura
Honda announced that its "i-DTEC" clean diesel technology will make its U.S. debut in a 2009 Acura-badged vehicle. Impressively, Honda's diesel meets Tier 2 Bin 5 emission levels without the use of urea injection. To date, the only other passenger-car diesel we're aware of that accomplishes this feat is VW's upcoming 2.0-liter TDI... when installed in cars smaller/ighter than the Passat.
Looks like a particulate trap and a lean NOx absorber and that's it. Much of the magic must be via careful combustion control, but Honda's not talking yet.
Details such as displacement, power and torque have not been released though we expect it will remain at 2.2 liters. The new engine pictured here will replace the Honda diesel currently sold overseas.

I've been on Jalopnik.com and edmunds.com all day hoping that acura would show something but they havent. It would be great if they revealed the 09 TL.

I was speaking with the Assistant Sales Manager at Downtown Acura in Toronto as I negotiated my new lease. He advised me that Acura has advised them that the 09 will be offered initially as a FWD. There was no information whether it would be offered in an AWD version or when that version might be offered.

I know I can live with this car for that long.

A dealer told me today that the 09 TSX's are coming out in march and that there is going to be a 2.3L turbo'd TSX Type-S with 260 hp and SH-AWD which will run about 35,000 MSRP.
No wonder Hondata worked on a reflash for the RDX.
If the problems with my TL-S arent not solved by the end of the year I will be driving one of those for sure.
