I currently have an 04 TL non-nav which will be paid off in November 2008. I'll probably consider getting the 4th generation TL once it becomes available in 2008. What might I expect for the 04 TL in terms of trading it in or selling it outright? The vehicle has some minor paint chips and I'll have approxitmately 75k miles on the vehicle.

Edmunds says the residual 5 years out with 75K miles is 46% (off typical retail, rather than sticker) or about $14K. Assuming normal wear, that sounds about right for retail in late 2008. Currently, 2004s with normal miles are going about $17-19K.

Trade in will be several K less, maybe $11K, especially because the 2004 will be lumped in will all the other used 3Gs and losing some value when the 4G comes out, and because trade-in has to leave room for the buyer to refurb and resell at a profit.
