has anyone heard of moletech or mtech fuel saver system, or are using it. saw it in a mag. and checked their site. just curious if anyone has used it and if it works. thanks..

The best fuel saving system YOU
keeping it out of VTEC- using mild to medium throttle to 3500-4000 is fine, and lets the engine run in its designed operating range
its not good to lug the engine at 2000 rpm- ok to cruise there, but not its working rpm
The other thing- seriously- from a race driver and pilot- both of which require finesse on the pedals~
Do stretching exercises for your calf muscles, the lower legs
They get constricted while seated- so getting them loose helps the next part-
ankle rotations-- for smoothness applying and releasing throttle, for rolling side to side for manual trans cars, who can brake and throttle with right foot
Put a ball, small to basketball sized, under your foot and stand next to a wall for support in case~ or be seated, and do some motions to loosen muscles up.
Its amazing what happens when you can gently smoothly and precisely control the foot inputs to the pedals
The end result is gas saving driving skills- now you control the throttle, not jump on and off it, causing fuel useage to go up
Smooth is smart!!
And brake early whenever possible approaching red stoplights.
If you coast at idle in D5, up at 20mph instead of driving to the light at 45 then braking heavily,
Coasting would have brought you near the light as it went green and you casually accellerate back up to speed
It takes more gas to get the car moving and up to speed, than to resume speed

actually- my recent viewing of the fuel mapping program and throttle position versus fuel mapping in use- If you keep a mild to medium accelleration in an automatic, it will run up to 3000-3500 and gently shift.
The fuel consumed was better with a little revs- the torque band - the Pull you feel from the engine, is where it accellerates the mass of metal with ease.
If you stay under the power band all the time, you are working the engine harder!
Once cruising speed is attained- 2000 rpm is fine for cruising, but if you see a hill- you would drop it down to D4 and gas a little bit- to keep up on the power~

my gas saving device = smooth throttle. 01tl4tl is dead on about smooth. I regularly get an extra 1 to 2 mpg out of my wife's car. She's not a jackrabbit, she's just mildly on and off the throttle all the time. Her new CR-V has an instantaneous MPG meter. She can now see the effect (even it it's not 100% accurate) and is getting better.
For me...never a tank under 25MPG average since day one in my 05 6MT. Obviously I don't punch it every minute but I have enough fun. 3.2L 258HP V6, fun of the 6MT, 25MPG...I don't see how it could get much better than that.

thanks for the input, and pretty much you all made a good point, smooth driving by far is the best way keep good mpg. i was just curious about the mtech fuel system saver, it reminded me of that tornado thing they sold a few years back, that improved air flow. just another scheme to get your money..
