Front Tow Hook

Hey guys,
Anyone know of a part number or perhaps where I can find a tow hook that fits into the bumper plug?

I went by the trans shop this weekend to see the progress being made on the rebuild and I noticed that the tow hook was bent. It then occurred to me this took place when I got the car towed. The driver pulled the car from the hook but then used tension on it to hold the car down so it wont move on the flat bed.

Hopefully she'll be back on the road end of the week.

There should be a tow hook in your spare tire kit, did you look? Also check the parts catalog online for a replacement and you may be able to find the specs for that bolt

My factory tow hook is bent as well from being flat-bedded to the dealer. I just threw it back into the spare tire kit and never look at it. I have had my TL for 8+ years and have used it once. Even bent, it works fine for its intended purpose.

Unless your hook is really bent, I would not worry about it. Mine is only bent down about 15 degrees.

Thank you,

It's part number 2 that was bent about 45 degrees.
I just hope the reinforcement wasnt damaged.

I'd have the body shop evaluate it but my guess is that just the extension was bent. That thing is not mean to be a tie down. Hindsight is 20/20, but I never would have even given the tow truck driver access to the loop/extension.

When mine was towed, he was looking under the front to hook onto and the angle it was at it would have dug into my bumper if I hadn't given him the tow hook. I had already left before I saw that he used my tow hook to tie it down with. If I had stuck around, I would have been sure to have asked him not to do that. Lesson learned...but at least mine was bent as bad as the OP.
