Question Front license plate frame removal

How do I remove my front license plate frame? Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched for "license", "plate", and "bumper", and could not find a thread that discussed this.

Take the four screws out to remove the plate and then 2 screws behind it to remove frame. Put matching plugs you got from the dealer in the hole.

There should be only two 10mm bolts holding the frame onto the bumper. This is the usual procedure, but maybe your dealer used screws or some other size bolt. In any case, you should be able to get some kind of wrench/socket/screwdriver/pliers on them to remove them.

There are no screws behind the frame. There are two bumps in the rear of the bumper, which were put there to accept the bolts that held the frame on. Whatever holds the frame on should come off from the front.

This will leave two dime-sized holes in the bumper. Your dealer should have given you two body colored plastic plugs which will plug into the holes. If not, look in the glove compartment. If you can't find them, make your dealer get you two because they came with the car when it was delivered to him.

I had trouble with this one too... I had to go to Acura and they showed me step by step, pay close attention, there are many steps;

1. You will need a Phillips screwdriver (that's the one with the X head)
2. Locate the screws that hold the license plate in, they are metal and have the Phillips screw head (X head)
3. After you locate the screws, carefully insert the head on the screw driver into the head on the screw.
4. Turn the screw counter clockwise until screw pulls out.
5. Repeat to the other screw.
6. With the license plate removed, you will find more screws (2) underneith on the mounting hardware.
7. Once you have located those screws, insert the screw driver into those screws and rotate counter clockwise.
8. Repeat to second screw, this will need total patience and control, so make sure that your full attention is focused on the job at hand.
9. Remove the mounting hardware and order new plugs for the holes at your local Acura parts department.
10. When plugs are recieved, place finger over plug and place in holes in bumper.

Wow, I hope I covered everything, if you have any questions, please post a reply, I maybe able to hussle up some photos and make a "how-to" diy thred on "removing front license plate & mounting hardware".

2004MT6L-without looking at a map I think I might be a bit closer to 9600gator than you are, so I might drive out this weekend and show him how to do it, unless you want to make the trip, or, also unless, he figures it out for himself.

Alright, I think I need pics and more detailed "how-to" diy thread.
Actually, I figured it out. Said screws were behind these black rubber covers.
Thanks for the help, especially to 2004MT6TL. Couldn't have done it without your step-by-step holy guidance. LOL :worship:

Look - Just remove ALL the screws or bolts you can see on the front of the bumper until there are no more. THEN plug 'em with the matching plugs.
