Front License Plate?

So I'm new to the Acura community and I absolutely love it. I've had my 2007 TL-S for about a year now and I don't have any regrets with it!

So I know I'm beating a dead horse on this topic, but I couldn't find any answers or good information on the posts about getting the offset license plate for the front of my car.

Doea anybody have a link or information/pricing on what it costs? I'm getting a new front bumper and I wannna have the plate on the side where the mount-hole is!

Much appreciated everyone!

Nooooooooo don't do it!!! ;-P Offcenter plate just ruins the front of the TL and attracts attention to all the wrong places. Said it before and I gotta say it again, if you have to have a front plate, leave it in the oem location which is the cleanest and least awkward looking spot. I can never figure out why people want to attract unwanted attention to a license plate. And when I see a car with an offcenter plate I can't help but stare at the plate lol.
I live in a two plate state (IL), and have never had a front plate installed on any vehicles of mine and have never been hassled. They don't seem to care much about that here in the Chicago suburbs.

There's the spot on the left corner of the front bumper where it has the specific spot to have the license plate there. Also I really don't wanna drill holes in my car...

^that's a tow hook.
not a spot for the license plate...

off set plates are HORRIBLE looking.
if you take a look at the perfect symmetry of the TL. you can see that it comes to point down the center.
place the plate in the center or none at all.

it really throws off the symmetry when there's an offset plate...

the only people who warrant an offset plate is EVO guys... they need to offset their plate because a plate in the middle disrupts air flow to the intercooler.

p.s. there are actual licence plate holes in the center.....ones you dont have to drill. ones that are meant for plates....

the one in the left corner is a tow hook. not a plate holder.

Yeah the EVO does have that airflow in it. Whenever I get the new bumper I'll take a look before I go ahead with anything.

all oem TL bumpers are the same...
there are two punch out holes in the center of the bumper.
and a punch out hole for the tow hook in the left hand corner.

Yeah I was gonna say, drill holes? That's another great thing about the 3G TL it already has dedicated spots for the factory plate bracket. If you don't want a front plate just pop the painted caps in there. You didn't happen to notice those holes? Lol

When I bought the car it already had the plate on it. But I'll have to take a look and see.

I live in Houston too. Haven't had much run in with them. But you just keep your plate in your windshield?

The problem is some idiot dealers drill an EXTRA 3rd hole (for no reason!) for the license plate bracket. I didn't realize this until years later when I decided to take off my front plate. It really isn't too noticeable when I took it off but I still had it repaired when I had my front bumper repainted once because the paint is peppered by rock chips.

If I really HAD to have a front plate I'd rather pay a little bit more than that rhoplate and get a motorized one. I would have done it already except that there seem to be a lot of complaints about it utilizing a cheap flimsy mechanism that can't stand up to more than a couple of winter's worth of grime and salt. If a better made product comes out, I'd buy.

I also live in a 2 plate state and have been pulled over plenty of times. I was asked about it only once (out of state) when pulled over for tint and they didn't know/couldn't enforce the laws of my state. I'd agree that for the most part the cops don't notice. I have the plate in the trunk to show a cop if I have to. I have an excuse already prepared,

Lol and pray do tell what is that excuse? So you don't even have the front plate even displayed in the windshield? haha just keeping it in the trunk
