Question Front Bumper and Headlight Questions

I've been thinking about clearing my headlights, and since it's legal here to do (checked all of the light and reflector laws, and it's all good ), I'm leaning heavily towards it. However, I do have 2 questions:

1) Can you remove the front bumper if you have the ASPEC kit, or do you have to remove the ASPEC lip and then the front bumper? I checked the ASPEC lip install instructions, and it looked like you just attach the lip to the bumper (no bolts go through to the frame)...are they now one piece that can come off and on, or does the lip block bolts/clips for the bumper itself, therefore, requiring it to be removed first?

2) Assuming you don't break the amber pieces while removing them, would you be able to crack the lights again and pop them back in, say, to sell the car? Aren't they just inserts that pop in and out?

Thanks in advance to all who reply. Also, I would like to keep this thread as clean as possible, so to anyone looking for pics of cleared headlights, DIY instructions, etc., please use the search feature with "cleared headlights" as the key words. Everything you would want to know and then some will come up...that being said, the answers to the above questions were not discussed at all, hence me asking here.

Assuming you get the neccesary information no one has posted the pics of the process. If you do this mod those would be helpful to future modders(like me). My guess would be since the Aspec bumper is not attatched to the car, but rather the existing bumper removing that should be enough.

I don't know the answer to your second question, but to answer the first the A-Spec lip is just attached to the front bumper, you don't need to take the A-Spec lip off.

i did the clearing myself and i dont have the aspec kit so i dont know about it but i think it will all come off as one whole bumper

as for the orange...it is and is not a pop off orange part..the driver side "popped out" while the passenger side didn't thus i messed it up...when i got a replacement...it didn't "pop" out like the driver side so i had to use a small bit and drill the slots that held the orange piece on.........sooooooo to answer your question.....it is pretty damn hard to put that orange piece back on if yours does not "pop out"....

hope that helps

As per instructions you heat it up to get the orange thing out.

guys here in TX say you have to throw it in an oven? Can you just heart it with like a heat guy or hair dryer instead?

Thanks guys! From what I can piece together, it sounds as if my ASPEC lip and bumper are now one piece (the answer I was looking for) and that, in theory, the amber pieces pop in and out (obviously, I was hoping for a "Yes, it's easy as pie", but you take what you can get...if one does it, the other should just have to figure out how).

As for cracking the lights, while the instructions say use the oven, a heat gun will work just as well, and some have used a hair dryer (there's a thread where some girl cleared hers and used a hair dryer).

crazymjb - pics could be a tall order since I don't have a camera...that being said, when I do this, I'll probably knock out a few other issues that having an extra set of hands would help with...I'll just have my friend take pics (he might even have a heat gun, too...).
