hey fellas...just a question..i took my front plat off my 04 SSM and now i have two ugly holes in my bumper...i was wondering if i can get the caps the service department at my local acura and if they would be painted..ot would i have to get them sprayed..also theres two flaps( mountin points) hanging from the bottom center of the bumper..r those supposed to be bolted somewhere or they made to hang?? any help would be apreciated..thanx

 

The caps should have been given to you. I would recommend you going back to the dealer and telling them you want your caps.

 

do they put em somewhere in the trunk? i personally think they tossed thme cuz in NY ur required to have ir front plate..but i dont care...do u think they will hassel me for it

 

I had to go back to the dealer to get mines. In Texas we are required to have front plates as well. I went to my sales guy and asked for the front plugs, he asked me why I needed than and started to inform me of Texas cars needing front plates. I flat out told him, what if I sold my car to a person from another state that didn't require front plates.

Basically it is a part off the car you purchase. There's no reason for them not to give it to you.

 

They should have been included with the car. Mine were in a littlie baggy in the glove box. Now, if you genuinely did not lose yours, and they were not included with the car, theoretically you'd have to go back to the original dealer you bought the car from and request them. Good luck getting the dealer to admit they forgot to include them....



The actual parts may only cost a buck, but the would have to be color matched to your car. The dealer like to "colormatch" for a fee.... a BIIIG fee....

I wouldn't cruise around without the front plate. I live but 4 miles from Mahopac, in Cortlandt Manor. Got a ticket from a State Trooper on Rt6 right in front of D'Agostino's Nursery about a month ago for exactly this offense: "No Front Plate Installed".

$50 ticket...not worth it, IMHO.
