Front Brake Caliper

Hi,

I am thinking about gettting a 04 TL (Auto). I noticed only 6MT offer the Brembo Front Brake Calipers and Rotors (with a cool looking ACURA writen on it). Does anyone know if I can get the parts (Calipers) and install it on the 5AT TL? Can I pay the dealer to do it for me? Has anyone done it? How much is it?

Thanks a lot!!!

there was a post here a week ago. owner has a 2003 TL and he painted the calipers. something was wrong and he went to the dealer and the dealer wouldn't touch it coz he voided the warranty by painting the calipers. of course, the painted caliper had nothing to do with the problem, yet the dealer gave him crap. so this may be a sensitive matter

BTW, I am talking about getting the caliper and rotors ( used on 6MT) from ACURA and put it on the 5AT TL.

I wanted something similiar. I asked my dealer and they said "CAN'T DO" They didn't give me a valid reason behind though. Anyone know why?

from what i read in past posts it was coz of the size difference and AT didn't need brakes with brembo "caliber" ( i could be wrong though but this is what i remember). i wanted this on my AT too and thought the A-spec would give me the brembos but it doesn't

You can't say the ASPEC is a cosmetic upgrade when the handling of a car is changed such that its hard to compare against the stock. To say the ASPEC and the TL are the same is forgetting that the suspension is factory tuned by Honda and depending on what you read, MotorTrend for example, goes so far as to say that torque understeer was eliminated on some turns. Not to mention that launches and braking are dramatically improved.

It is cheaper to get some of this stuff seperate and via aftermarket, Eibach, comptech, etc., but I'm at ease knowing its under warranty (a heavily modded Type R in my garage, I have many reasons why this was the best option).

And finally, we are one car, one love, sometimes I feel as if our fellow ASPEC owners are getting no love for putting out for what we consider a worthy upgrade. I value ya'lls opinion, but lets be a little courteous to some of our ASPEC brethren that honorably roam these threads and contribute valuable knowledge and insight

Of course, insert here "You should not worry about others opinions, enjoy your ride"...but its natural ya know. Ya can't have all these ASPEC threads without one representative comment from an ASPEC owner.

Have a good one, ASPEC or not, the TL is a great car!
