free car wash?
free car wash?
I heard that the acura dealership will give unlimited car washes free of charge. if its true, do u have to go to the acura dealer in which u bought ur TL from? or can i go to the one thats closer to my house?
also, is there such thing as abusing that privilege? like is once a week too much?

LMAO .... i never heard such a friendly offer from my local dealers .... if there is one exist, I would still worry about the quality of these freebies that would done to my TL's paint ... just my two cents though ...
I called up the dealership one day and said, "Hey I have a banquet to attend tonight, could you guys give my car a free wash?" and so they did.. but I wouldn't go back again, because a dealership car wash = complimentary swirl marks...
If you know of the service managers, I'm sure they can put your car in line for a wash.. but most likely you'll have to wait a good while like i did.. which was about an hour

I would never get it washed by the dealer....it creates mad swirl marks and isn't good at all for the paint. Unless like Al says that it's a hand wash, then it's fine, which I highly doubt they do.

They usually charge about 20$
I go to my dealership every week for a free car wash. They have an automatic car wash and you don't have to get out of the car. Very convenient after work since it's on the way home. I skip the guy that dries the cars though... instead I dry myself at the back of the dealership and spay some wax as you dry.
Although I do use Zaino every now and then... I love having a silver car. 10years with a black bmw = tired of the swirl mark maintenance and seeing every single dirt/dusk speck.
Always clean ASM ftw.

it depends on dealers. I had good and bad experiences from different dealers. The last one I went to turn my 14 man hour detailed car to a 25 dollar special around the back alley car detail special. Hopefuly ill get another warm day before full winter hit.
If I ever go back to this dealer for work and that's a big if. I am going to say no to the "free" car wash.

it all depends on weather they have the automatic car wash or not. if they do have the auto car wash in the back of the dealership best believe when you drop your car off there going to run it right threw that and give it a 2 1/2min quickie, which it's gonna leave your clear coat looking like a spiderweb with all the swirl marks it going to leave. if there is no auto car wash then yes they will hand wash your car fo sho....

+1! I will never let anyone touch my car except me - and maybe my wife when I manage to sucker her into helping me
Part of the TL experience for me is washing the car. It gives me a sense of pride when I look back at it after I'm finished knowing I made it look that good. It's sorta like mowing your own lawn instead of hiring landscapers to do it.
Besides, most dealerships have an automatic car wash that they run your car through. Have you ever seen those guide rails that keep the car on the track? NOT a good thing for wheels. It will more than likely rash the hell out of the edges.

They did this when I had my first oil change. My car was super clean.. it had no need for a wash ~ they did it anyway and made it look worse... I told them next time, no thanks.
...went home and re-did it myself. Never again...

At Curry they hand wash, but dry the car with a squeege, seen it yesterday when I went to drop off the loaner. When I was dropping my car off they asked if I want a wash or no. CLEARLY SAID NO, since Acura of Manhattan has left me traumatized after major hologram swirls.
The Acura dealer in Westmont (I see your from IL) gives free washes if you bought your car there our have service performed there. They never require anything just get in line...however it has those rails and I would NEVER use one of those with my summer rims.
I'm glad I am not the only one that hates their washes.
Seriously.. my car came out looking worse than it did when it went in... I wish they would of asked me before they did it. I would of said no.. now, I make it a point to tell them no.

The first time I brought my car to the dealership for service, I clearly told them not to wash it. Guess it didn't matter what I said because they went ahead and washed it anyways haha. They did a decent job, but it'd def. look a lot better if I had washed it myself
do you work at acura of brooklyn? i was just there the otehr day and they gave me a free car wash ticket, the service guy told me its a hand car wash. maybe ill check it out.
hmm, ill ask the someone who works at the McGrath Dealer in IL if the car wash gives swirl marks. so far, ive used the car wash twice and it looks fine to me. maybe WDP is an anti-swirl color
its going to be a biased answer and they're going to say no... swirl marks happen whether its by hand or by machine, it's the improper washing of the car (i.e. drying in a circular motion, reusing dirty towels, etc etc). take a halogen light to your car and then you'll see the results, either you have the indestructible tl or there are some swirls, depending on how old your car is of course.
I dont really see swirl marks unless you look really really closely on my SSM, but on my brothers VBP type-s you could see swirl marks easily.
and I've had my car washed 3 times by the other acura dealership here, and welll... my paint is pretty effed up now = / It's like swirls galore!
