Found the most inaccessible bolt in the car!

And it only took Forever! it's the drain bolt from step 4 below. a 90 pound contortionist slathered in vasoline couldn't get to that thing!

(it will be possible with some clever jacking and a box wrench, but GEEZ that is the least convenient thing I've ever seen. looks like the coolant drain will wait until tomorrow, it's about beer:30

What year is your car that it already requires a coolant flush?

Coolant is really only good for 5 years, then the stuff inside it starts to go acidic.
That bolt is not accessable until you scrape away 3 layers of skin from hand-
then right in~
At least your manual said to put a hose on it!
Some are a butterfly valve- some a bolt- some maybe a bolt with drain port,,,,,

anyone know the proper way to bleed air out of our system? I've heard horror stories about air bubbles in these things...

I wasnt sure, cuz it shows you joined in dec. of 07, so I was thinking you had an 07, thats why I was thinking to myself on why you changing the fluids in less than a year.

yeah, I usually change fluids out after the first 5 years, then every 3 after that... Gotta wear some gloves, saved me numerous times, except difficult to grab onto the smaller nuts/bolts/screws.....

well I got at it, I have the narfed up forearms to prove it. not too bad in the end, just jack up the passenger side, take off the passenger (front obviously) wheel, look up in there, find the nippled bolt, use a little socket wrench with a 12mm socket on it to just crack it loose (and then you can turn it by hand), put a 1/4" ID, 3 foot long rubber hose on it, and rotate it counterclockwise, it should drain with no problemo.
