Forbes top 10 Most Reliable used cars
The Acura TL made Forbes’ recent list of top 10 Most-Reliable Used Cars based on studies from Consumer Reports and J.D. Power and Associates. The list identifies vehicles specifically from the 2008 and 2009 model years, with high scores in dependability and long-term reliability.
“As with all of the vehicles in our top 10 list of most-reliable used cars, the model-year 2008 and 2009 versions of the midsize Acura TL luxury sedan received top grades for long-term durability from both Consumer Reports and J.D. Power and Associates owner surveys and high marks in initial quality and performance testing. The TL combines elements of comfort and performance with a sporty demeanor. The 2008 version can be found with either a 258-horsepower 3.2-liter V6 or a stronger 286-horsepower 3.5-liter V6. The TL was redesigned for 2009 and featured a 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 as the base engine, with a 306-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 in the SH-AWD all-wheel drive model. The TL remains attractively styled inside and out (though the pronounced front nose design on the 2009 – pictured here – is a matter of taste) and affords ample comfort for both front and rear-seat passengers, with stability control and many amenities included.” - Forbes.com

I feel better than Audi, BMW and MB is not on the list, I would be upset if they were.
Bragging rights here I come to all my friends who own them and make the bold statement that they are just as reliable as my car and better.

true that MB, Audi, and BMW rarely make the most reliable list's, but they are still high-end luxury cars. Acura is still a Honda with a few more luxuries. don't get me wrong I still like my TL and all but compared to awd/rwd from the Germans cars the fwd just falls short on handling..

They get snobby about how better their cars are anyways and try to talk crap about my car which I ignore, why fight to change their opinions when they are that devoted to German cars.
At least I dont have to pay big bucks on small items that fail, on top of normal maintenance. The audi guys have electrical problems which items fail. hahaha

Oh no doubt they have very luxurious cabins and performance to match, but sadly the normal maintenance are still pretty costly from what my friends say, most are BMW owners and a few Audi A4s and A6s, and one MB C class. As for the girls in the group, just your average toyota yaris, camry and rav4s.

I have two friends that drive E46 M3's that always tell me my 05 6Spd is slow, cant drift it yada yada, fwd torque steer. But im also not the one dropping 1-2k every oil change to get "inspections" done on my rod bearings, etc. Whenever we go out, who do they always want to ride with? TL's ftw.

I was a big German car guy. I love the engineering. Just they cost so much to fix. Everything. I was paying 145 for wiper blades at 1 time. I'm starting a fam. I needed performance and luxury with a decent repair cost. I had a Honda as my first car and knew I had reliability there. I always loved the acura body style so I bought 1. I'm happy. I miss the AWD of my old Audi and the way it gripped the road but I'm liking the tall person room in my TL. And that I can afford the repairs easier..

Congrats! My wife and I have a son who will be 4 soon and we have another otw in mid-December. I have an '08 Type S and it's been sufficient - even with my son being within the 95th percentile in size since birth (chunky early on, now he's tall). It will certainly be snug when you're trying to fit strollers, bags/luggage and other stuff, but you make due. However, my wife had a '01 Sentra SE2.0 when our first was born - it was too small, among other things. Once we found out we were expecting our second, we sold it and picked up an MDX with sport pkg, nav and dvd. Now everyone is happy!

, but it's okay since we don't venture to 4G very often. Also note Champ's blunder.

My TL cured me of German cars!! I drove Mercedes for many years, all diesel. Sure, German cars are extremely safe! Biggest plus I would say. But the OVER-engineering is where the problems crop up. Climate control mess, unreliable cruise controls, etc... nickel and dime you to death! $$$$$$
Fit and finish within the last 15 years is very substandard also.
And Audi I hear is scary-expensive to own.....
