Question fogs

I already tried searching but I had no luck. I plan on doing a front bumper conversion from a 04-06 to a 08 type s. I was wondering is it possible to wire the 08 fogs to the 04-06 in-house fogs? Therefore I wouldnt have to make a new fog light button (next to VSA) and just use the stock fog light switch. What would I need to make it work? Sorry Im not good with electrical work. Thanks.

I am interested in this same thing. I am tired of people flashing me thinking I have on high beams, but they are just my 04 fogs. Any help would be welcome.

keep the in house fogs and add yellow fogs below that can turn on without the headlights on that would be nice

i was just thinking about adding them to the 06 bumper without converting to the 07-08 front but i dont want it to look all riced out

A good idea if you want to gain lower fogs but lose the integrated "in-house" fogs would be to relatively easy wiring job with low cost. CUT the wires going to your current integrated "in-house" fogs, and wire them straight to the fogs in the bumper. Then you could purchase some 5watt 9006 DRL bulbs and a DRL module (one of our vendors sells one I think) which will fit your integrated "in-house" fogs housings and the DRl module will wire directly up to the bulb harness you just cut. You WILL have to do some additional wiring. Im not sure what needs to be tapped to get the DRLmodule working...Probably the wiper motor wire or something. The new DRLs will turn on whenever the car is on and the lower fogs will be controlled by your factory switch on the steering column multi-function stick.

There ya go, best of both worlds. Now you have a new feature (DRL's) and you aren't getting flashed by people. Personally, I like it when people flash me because I can flash them back

As of right now I would not mind losing the integrated in-house fogs. DRL would be a nice project later down the road. But as far as "cutting", is it just a simple cut and reconnect by electrical tape? (not sure how to reconnect sorry )

Yes, its literally as easy as that.... but I would solder too, not just tape it.

Also, If you are going to be running a HID kit (and not the stock halogen bulbs) then I would look into upgrading the fog light fuse to a 15amp from the stock 10amp or install a relay, your choice.

Any specific type of solder such as lead-free, silver, etc.?
