Fog Lights

One of my fog lights went out and I have decided I want to upgrade and get HIDs. A local shop here has the kits and installs them all for $130. Is that too much? Or not bad? Also, they only have 6k and 8k. Would 6k be a huge difference than the headlights? And I also have turn signal switchbacks coming in soon. Will that match it? I don't want to have 3 difference colors (headlights, fogs, and turn signals...). Anyone help please?

$130 is not a horrible price, but the install is simple so i think you can save some money if you do it yourself.

a set of HID fogs is around $50-$60 and you can choose whatever color you want, 5k,6k,8k, etc.

6k will be fairly close to your headlights, maybe a tad bit bluer.

i would try and stick with either 5 or 6k for headlights, fogs, and turn signal switchbacks.

5k is white, 6k is a slight tint of blue but mostly white.

Is this 5 or 6 you think?: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Switchback-...7443_sku38.htm

So you're saying it wouldn't look bad if I mixed 5k and 6k? Like if I got 6k fogs and kept my headlights the same?

To give you an idea of what 5k and 6k mixed is here you go:

5k CBI bulbs from theretrofitsource "TRS"
6k Moromito HID bulbs from "TRS"
5k LED DRL's ijdmtoy drl kit
5k Switchbacks from eBay

DRL and Fog Lights

they look like 5k to me, but it doesn't specify. just says "white".

as you can see from machines pics, the differences are so minor...you'll be fine with either 5 or 6k, or both.

oh and make sure you get load resistors for the switchbacks.

So if I kept my headlights stock, got 5k switchbacks, and 6k foglights.. It'll look similar to machines pics? Will it look clean? Reason why I ask is because I have a gift card from the shop.

And yes, I have 5k CBI headlight bulbs and if you have not upgraded your factory bulbs then the color is 4300K.

Your headlights will probably look a little yellowish. They are 4300 stock, which will look less intense than the 5 and 6k switchbacks and fogs. The main reason I changed my HIDs was that the switchbacks really were out shining them and it looked a little off IMO.

Doesn't seem too bad. I'm not familiar with electrical work and wiring for the fogs so I don't know how much is involved in doing it yourself.

HID fog kits are super easy to install especially when you have a wiring harness. It's basically plug and play.

The only extra wiring you would have to do is if you want your fogs to be independent.

Or you could use the gift card to buy 2 sets from the shop and install them yourself, because its the easiest thing ever. Now youll have HIDs in your DRLs and foglights
