FOG-LED DIY-Very Simple

Ok here it is guys my first diy on acurazine.

I wanted to replace my fog lights for some time now, I decided to pull a trigger and buy something more expensive with good warranty and great reviews all over the web. This kit comes with lots of different cables for a simple plug and play install, I have no errors on dash, no extra work needed to be done. simply plug and play... this cant get any better or easier !

I paid 99.99 and here is the outcome.

Also I didn't had to take out the front bumper like a lot of you did when upgrading / installing fog lights to HID or LED and this is how I did it.

Lets Get Started

H8 bulbs

I really really like the quality of these LEDS, it has a big heat sink in the back to keep it cool, also it has a build in fan that wine up a little on rpm to keep the bulbs cool... The way they feel in your hand, they feel like quality and I really like them. They fit in the fog light housing nice, tight, and simple...

1. I took used a jack to lift the car a little, and turned my wheels to get some room between the fender and the tires.

2. I took 2 plastic bults / nuts whatever they are called, and also removed a screw on the bottom by the faster that holds the plastic in place, its a 10mm socket.

3. After that I had enough room to remove the stock bulb, and put the led in there.

Size: 293.5 KB

4. There is a little hole by the front bumper, I put the wires there for easy connection also taped them so it wont come apart...

Size: 296.6 KB

5. Turn them on, make sure everything is working and led lights up... If it does, I used zip ties to hold the wires in place.

This is a driver side that I did, it was so quick i forgot to take a pictures of the driver side..

The same procedure goes for the passenger, 2 plastic clips, and 10mm bolt on the bottom.

The outcome before pulling it out from the garage...

Even the cat liked it

With LED On!

I'm very happy with them, I didn't get anyone flashing at me that they are to brite or someone getting blind by it... I would recommend them..

Now I'm thinking what can I do with OEM HID

Nice work! Not sure I like a $100 bill for bulbs but they do look nice! It looks like they match the OEM, I imagine thats just the camera, are they more white? My other issue would be glare but you mentioned that didnt seem like an issue.
My biggest issue with LED's is reliability. I am wondering how these will stand up to weather and use. I think the fan might get wet and is weatherproof?!

Thanks for the post!

Those look great, nice job. If they last as long as they're supposed to, $100 is not bad.

those look great! i would love to go this route but there is no way that thing is fitting in any car that has a CAI. our oem fog lights already hit the filter for the CAI and i'm sure this thing is much longer than the OEM plug.

that cat is hilarious!

I've been running some LED's similar to the below link (with the correct connection for our car) in my fogs for about a year and 3 months now. They were also just plug and play and I have had zero issues. They've seen temps down to 10 degrees F and up to 90 degrees F. Mine are on anytime my lights are on so they've definitely seen a lot of use especially during the fall/winter/spring since we are a bit North. I think I paid around $50 for my bulbs.

I didn't have to jack the car up to install, just cranked the wheel and slipped my arm in after pulling back the fender liner if that helps.

This is what I'm using in my G37 fogs. No fan.

On a side note, do any of you have a cold air intake in your TL? I ask because I still have a cold air intake on my TL and the air filter rubs against the back of my halogen bulb. I would imagine there would be fitment issues with these LED fog light bulbs due to the giant heat sink/fan assembly.

Didn't realize it was 90 days. I bought them back in May of this year and they were not going to be discontinued. They were $100 (i had a 20% off coupon so i paid $80) and had a 1 year warranty.

They are pushing there new $130 led fogs and i guess trying to clear out what's left of the VX3 models.

They've been good however my G is a weekend car. So they don't have much hours on them. They've been in for almost 6 months now

That is another thing I do not like about Vleds, they seem to update their products so much and do not support their old stuff. Just seems like there are too many variables with LED's. I do not want to spend a bunch of money and have them not work right or not at all.

The Vleds led fog lights that you listed above are they plug and play for a 08 TL-S?

These look great OP. I wish I could buy them for my TL-S, but the reflector inside one of my fogs is damaged and messes with the beam pattern. It was like this when I bought the car. I wonder how that happened?

As far as I know there is no LED assembly that fits our cars, only adding an LED bulb to the housing.
