Floorboard LEDs

Whatsup guys,

I really want to replace all the stock lights in my car and was wondering if anybody has installed any type of LEDs above their pedals and on the rear floorboards so that the floors are illuminated? Does anybody have pics and DIY for the mod? I want it so that these lights are always on when the car is on, how would you go about wiring that to make it happen?

Thanks.

I did already search the 3G Garage but the most I could find was the dome light and door light replacements. Nothing about the floorboards. Also, those threads were very confusing because of all the different bulb part numbers.

Well, the Type-S has the floorboard illumination in the front seats... but not the rear. You could always install a neon light bar?

I could do that all around because I have an 06. But my question is...Is this the only way to go or do I have other options? And how would I wire them so that they are always on when the car is on? Or that they come on with the DRLs are on or the headlights?

What do you guys think of those ideas? Anybody have information about how to go about doing this?

Has anybody done this mod? I think one guy, "Kracker", did this but there is no how-to.

Come on people!

Yeah, I want to figure out how to wire them so they are on when the car is on. I don't want any switches or anything. Or maybe wire them to come on with the DRLs. Is any of this possible?

Buy the service manual, its a great start. You'll have every info needed of how the car is assembled and unassembled.
Thats what I did...I replaced all bulb with LEDs (easy as help) now im heading to black my head lights before winter.

This car is so nice to personalized. Keep on moding!

id say like..

install your lights
get a relay

Lights
Run the ground to a place that works
Run the power wire into the relay

Relay
Run a direct line to the battery
Run the ground to a place that works
Connect the power wire from the neons to the switched output of the relay
Tap the relay signal/sensor/activation wire to an interior illumination wire that gets power when the lights are turned on

Running them to your DRLs would turn them off at night when your headlights turn on; which sounds like the opposite of what you want

Yeah you're right, Timmah, that is not what I was looking to do. I would like them to turn on when the door is open and when the headlights are on.

Getting it to do both might be difficult.. you'd have to wire it in a way that when the setup is turned on via the door switch it's not sending power to the vehicle illumination and vice versa

Timmah, that sounds intense. I might just go with it so that when the headlights are turned on, they come on...anybody know how this would work.

I have four blue led cluster, one under each footwell (front) , an under the seat (rear).

I plan do something a bit more up front, these just don't have the spread... but they're fin int he rear.

I wired the fronts up to illumination wires of one of the dash buttons and the rear to the heated seat illumination wires (+ red/black stripe 2 silver dots, - black).

Looks great, just need a bit more brightness up front.
Thinking about one of those "strips" form ebay, or these badass luxart modules from SBL...

I have those in my car they're great, I have a buddy who sells them if you're interested, and he can sell you a small remote on your keychain so you don't have to have em on all the time, but can just flip them on(I love it)...it comes with everything to plug and play (you plug a fuse tap right into your fuse box so theres no visible wires...) pm me and i'll give you his info
