Thumbs up First Week Report

At age 1 week, 170 miles, so far, so good. Still, no rattles, no vibrations, no flatspoting, no drooping headliner, and NO DENTS OR DINGS! The looks and comments I'm getting are WOW!, especially about the color. Everyone thinks this car is 'THE BOMB'! I watched the owner of an SSMs jaw drop when she saw it saying she had no idea what the green looked like and would have definitely gotten it had she seen it before ordering.

Love the voice control for the audio and climate control systems. I think it's the most underrated aspect of having the Nav system as there's less need to ever have to take your eyes off the road, an additional safety feature. Nothing like showing off to a member of the female gender saying "CD Play Disc 2 Track 4", have the voice repeat what I've said, followed by Barry White (or Barry Wet as some have referred to him) - Can't Get Enough of Your Love". Trust me guys, it works!

Today, I had to use my '89 Accord SEi Coupe w/5speed (FOR SALE) for a while and gained an additional appreciation for the TL's clutch. It's like butter compared to any other stick I've ever driven.

I've decided to keep the Bullshitstone tires until the end of the break-in period when I'll be able to start driving like my usual self. Then I'll trash 'em.

Have only 2 issues so far:
- Gas mileage only 14 :smackhead , mostly city, but still on 1st tank so I'm sure it'll get better......IT BETTER!
- Opening the trunk with the keyfob is intermittent, sometimes it works, yet most of the time it doesn't. Yes, I know you're supposed to hold down the button for a full second or 2.

I will post pics soon of the added plood plus all the custom moulding work I had done like fender well trims, a 5/8' thick strip all around the rear bumper, etc.

Overall,

Stay Tuned ..................

good luck with the gas mileage in the city. i have 3800 miles on the car now and when i drive in the city i get like 14-15mpg. it really sucks because of all the stop and go. when i go to work normally and just drive highway i get like 24mpg. its a huge difference.

I just picked up my 2004 TL Auto/Navi Anthracite/Ebony yesterday. Great car. By the way, my experience with my 2000 TL was that there was a vast difference between city and highway driving. The car was (and the new one is) heavy. It takes a lot of energy (i.e. gas) to accelerate it. On the old one I averaged 20 in town (as bad as 17 in the winter) and around 34 (I'm serious...I keep a book) on the highway.

It was almost silly. I could drive from NJ to Boston on less than half a tank of gas and then use the other half driving around town in a fraction of the miles.

Anyway, the new one has 59 miles on it so I have no sense for it yet, but the trip computer is showing an average MPG of 21. That included some highway and some city yesterday. I expect it will improve after the engine is broken in, but this doesn't seem a lot different from the old one.

I'm as sure of that as sure as you are reading this.

By the way, I don't seem to have any problem with the tires.

To answer the 1st quote, that was a battle I couldn't win as they said Acura has become really adamant about allowing them to swap tires on the TL for non-Bullshitstones prior to delivery, so instead I got other concessions out of them at delivery time.

2nd Quote: Follows accordingly.

Of course DMZ can change his mind!
My problem with him is as follows:
Everything that he does and buys is the "best."
His salesman is the best (I met Mr. Meed. He is a Hellava nice guy, BTW.)
His dealership is the best. He doesn't mention anywhere that you can't park there. It's horrible and way too small.
The "color" that he bought makes people stop whatever they are doing just to stare at it.
He tells us how he resolved problems (i.e. Bridgestones), when he actually didn't resolve anything at all.
Oh, and speaking of the wonderful dealership, I went there with a friend who had brought his car in for service. When it was time to pick up the car, we were told that the car would be brought up to us at the side of the service dept.
We looked out and saw his car in the lot.
There was a guy walking towards it eating a sandwich.
He opened the door to get in and drive it over to us when my buddy went over there and got the key from this dope.
He would have been eating that sandwich in the car!
I doubt that this was the first time that happened.

Did I answer your question?

Well, Let's see now...

"Eneg - I HATE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Eneg's advice to someone having radio preset problems.
Oh my goodness. I would either sell the car or sue.
Have everyone call Acura and complain.
Don't stand for this from a $35,000 car!!!!!!
Eneg prides himself on disagreeing with others. In this case, the post he responded to was actually intelligent and made common sense.
I always pride myself in disagreeing with all of VTEC=happiness' posts. Unfortuately, I can't disagree with this one as I can't understand one sentence in it!

There is, however, one jerk member of this website who calls himself "eneg" who, if I could, I would keep this information from. This guy has been lurking and pestering me for a couple of days, insisting that those of us who share problems with our cars on this website have all been wasting everyone's time by bringing up (or joining in) discussions about things like loss of memory seat settings, tire vibration, loss of radio presets, etc. He insists that using this website to complain about little problems is pointless. What an assanine thing to say. I just wish I could make this guy go away, but I can't, so I'm blocking all of his posts so I don't have to read them anymore.

Eneg, go ahead and flame away, but just know that I'm not going to bother unblocking you just to see more of your pointless comments.

ENEG, yes I went to college. I studied Criminal Law and Administration of Justice at USC. (University of So. Cal.) I realize it's not as glamorous as being the "Underwater Basket Weaving" Champion for your area or even being Captain of the "Men's Anal Tounge Dart" team at NYFU...but I'll leave those accolades to you.

The fact that you can dislike someone soley based on his or her profession like you have stated to Dan amazes me! Don't you realize this Forum is allowing you to be apart of it's community despite being a Gay Porn Star? I say we all "bury the hatchet" and play nice! Or in your case it is "hide the salami", but you know what I'm saying man! It is Christmas for goodness sakes.....

Happy Holidays everyone!

In this case, Dummy, I was responding to a post from VTEC=HAPPINESS that started out something like this:
"I always pride myself in disagreeing with all of Eneg's posts." So I responded.

First, you can see how "classy" this guy is.
Second, if I can remember correctly, the "Dan" that he was referring to was a car salesman that was trying to do business on the forum. Acted like he was everybody's friend. Then, when the TL became available everywhere, he disappeared. I also never read a note from him re the Bridgestones, did you? He (Dan) was here to try and make a few sales and I just pointed that out

AHA! This is "Dan", right?

Who's question did he answer?

As a matter of fact, I did answer a few questions.
You probably know it too. Your just not honest enough to have included them here. Guess you have "selective" editing. . .

Okay, instead of trying to sidestep all of your out-of-context quotes, I tried to respond to them.
How about you?
Instead of quoting my posts from the past year, why don't you respond to some of my "concerns" about you and your opinions?

Yes, there are plenty more posts. But looking at all of them overall, despite the fact that you think you have a problem with me, there's lot's more people on this forum that are actually sick, tired, and fed up with your personal attacks on them.

So, who's really the one with the problem here?

I do my research and only try to recommend to everyone here to most prosperous way to go. As for my love of Curry Acura and Anthony Meed, here's a post from someone who took my advice and bought from him:

I post very rarely, so I doubt that there are "lots" of people that are very mad at me.
But, let's get back to you:
I already told you that I have met Mr. Meed and liked him very much.
Let's break it down, okay?
Maybe you are ADD and can't handle a couple of points at a time.
So, DMZ, tell us about the wonderful parking situation at the #1 dealership in the nation.

(I'm waiting........)
