Post First time Posting, but not new.

Whats Up, I'm Jeremy,
My wife has had her Pearl white/black leather/carbon fiber trim automatic, 06 TL sence she ordered it. Now she wants something else... So Im gladly going to take it from her.
Got a question though. I was getting on it a week or so ago and as it shifted into 3rd it sounded like a little back fire. Any thoughts. This happen a few times.
Also, I am about to start dumping money in it. I know every car has there cheap little tricks. So ontop of the usual CAI, Exhaust.. and ya'll muffler deletes. what is the cheap ez tricks for performance. And what are the good sites to get these parts.

There are no cheap ez tricks for performance. You gotta pay to play. Check with our vendors. Peruse their sites to see what performance parts are out there. Do a search on AcuraZine for the parts that interest you. Buy it and enjoy.

The best bang for your buck is a J-Pipe. Multiple vendors sell different versions so do your research. I have a ATLP V2 but other members have the RV6 V3.

Are you actually living in Italy now with the car?

That would make modding expensive considering the shipping costs. :o

I have an italian car in america and you would not believe how expensive it is. A reason why it's sitting idly.

Perhaps he's military in which case postage is the same price as us. Congrats Welcome to AZ! Check out the 3G garage for tons of info. Also register your TL at www.myacura.com in the USA or https://www.myacura.acura.ca/ in Canada. Save your Navi and Radio codes there. Check for any recalls your TL may need.

A little backfire through the intake has happened to mine 3 times since I bought it in '06. There are some old threads on it but it usually happens on the shift as you're lifting off the throttle. Some say it's the throttle slamming shut since it briefly closes in between gears. To me it sounds like an intake pop from a backfire. Regardless, if the car runs good and it's only happened once it's probably the same weird problem many of us have had once or twice. A CAI makes it louder obviously but mine has always had a stock intake.

If it's an actual problem, an intake backfire is usually from a lean condition but I doubt that's the case.

I guess I should've asked in the beginning, was this from under the hood or from the exhaust?

I am in the military and no the car is not with me here in Italy, but neither is my wife. I have my Trailblazer SS here.
I know that you have to pay to play in HP I but some cars just have something you can take off or turn around. But thanks for the best bang for the buck. I will look into that.
As for the back fire noise. I don't know cause I had the radio up all times that it happened. Then I had to come back before I could actually look into it... It didn't seem to hurt the car or flash anycodes. thanks guys
