This is my second TL. I do not miss the first one at all. And I liked that one.

I guess I am the noob
Once I get my car though, I am getting a job. I really do appreciate my parents footing the bill on such a nice car, but I am helping pay for it out of my bank account. Not sure how much, but I think all of the down payment, which was over half. Anyway though, once I can actually drive to a place to work I want to get a job, that way I can buy stuff. :p

1990 Acura Integra GS 5-speed Bought new and sold after 115,000 miles - Fun commuter car
Unscheduled Repair: power antenna
1995 Acura Legend 6-speed coupe bought new and sold after 142,000 miles (for 04 TL) best car I ever owned
Unscheduled repairs: Motor mount (warranty), radiator, power antenna
1998 Acura RL bought with 30K in 2000 and now have 53K on it - Great highway car
Unscheduled repairs: air cond., automatic window, dash lights (all under warranty)
:p 2004 TL 6MT, now have 5.5K on it - Great so far
HFL did not work when I got the car. Seat memory fails about once a month. No other issues - No tire problems, no rattles, no headliner problems.

my girlfriend tells me "i cant believe you are going to spend that much money on a car." and i say "what else am i going to spend my money on?" thousands of DVDs? piles of clothes? i already put a ton of money away (at least for most people my age) in my 401k and in IRAs. ive got all this cash just sitting in my bank account, i might as well make good use of it and put it towards something i will enjoy right?
it also eases my mind to have a full phonebook/map at my disposal at any moment, and that the TL is rated safest in its class. i almost went for the TSX, but once i saw the way the TL looked in person, i had to shell out the extra cash for the looks and the extra features.
i CANT WAIT to get this car. now hopefully these dealerships will call me back. LOL

I didn't expect to see over 75% first time Acura buyers. A lot of people at Acura have some pretty big grins if they are seeing this type of response on their internal surveys as well.

The new TL has considerably broader appeal than the 1st two generations, which should be borne out by its sales numbers.
I had two 1st Gen legends, a 1987 from 1993-1994 and a 1988 from 1997-2001.
I still have Acura #3, the NSX, and of course #4, my TL.

My Red/Camel/5AT/NAVI is my 2nd Acuar, and I still love it.
After having more than 338,000 miles of hassle free service from my 1990 Integra, I could not justify buying anythings else. The Integra still runs great and has 350K mile now.

dumber than a box of hair
First time for me. Before the TL, I owned 3 VW's, one Chevy Vega (and I don't admit that one too often), one Geo Prism (my wife's car, 10 years old and still going strong), and one Honda Passport. My sister has had two Acuras...an '88 Integra and an '01 CL, which she still has.

This would be my first Acura... who knows where I will move next
* 2002 Ford Mustang GT (First Car)
* 1996 Ford Escort (Needed a winter car with the Mustang...)
* 2004 Acura TL (Desided to merge the two)
Although I am happy to say I have been fortunate enough to not have too many problems with the TL. A little vibration in the passanger door storage area (easily fixed) and the brakes that erk the hell out of me at times (But very slowly getting better).
