Mine will be around 6000; I'm at 5,800 or so and have just recently gotten the "service due soon" message.

3.100 with 50% oil life remaining, I've been told by car enthusiasts that if you plan on having the car for a long time don't wait for the maintanance minder to tell you change the oil do it every 3K.

Are these enthusiasts also mechanical engineers who have kept up with today's advances in automotive efficiences and cleanliness ??

I love how everyone thinks they know better than the manufacturer because their dad, and their dad's dad, and so on always said 3,000 miles.

well I couldn't tell ya, but the service manager at Acura must know more than me cause he backed that 3k oil changes if you were going to keep the car, mentioned only a good thing to use the minder if leasing. Can you prove differently I would love it if you could save me some $$$$$$$$

agreed..the owners manual says the MID will tell you when to change your oil depending on your driving conditions and environment. how many people here would believe an ethusiast over a honda engineer? for pete's sake they manufactured the engine the enthusiast has nothing to do with honda.

Every mechanic/service tech will always tell you to change it every 3000 miles because it will fatten their wallets!

Did you ask this question just to see if I would quote the manual. I never do that, but if I did, I would tell you that it is on page 196, and it says:
Turn ign sw on
Display oil life
Press & hold sel/reset button for 10 seconds
select OK

For what it's worth, my dealer also suggested I change the oil every 3,750 miles.

My dealer told me, especially for the first change, to wait until the MID tells you to. I'm at about 4500 miles and 50%.

I was in fact waiting for one of those great responses where someone reminds me of the virtues of reviewing the manual...god forbid I actually do some research before asking a question, eh? Thanks for the help

Of course they would....means more $$$$ in their slimy pockets if you get the oil changed there more often.

In other forums, I work with Sony remote controls and, while I try not to say "RTFM" I do quote the manual a lot, but that is remote controls and this is a machine that sparks devotion, loyalty, pride of ownership, etc.

So, if you are: (pick one or more)
a. Too lazy
b. Not near the manual
c. Looked and just can't find it
d. In a hurry to drive your TL so you don't want to waste time reading a FM
e. All of the above

Then I am only too happy to help out. No matter what the reason, if I can help you enjoy your car more, or even prevent someone from doing something harmful to their baby, then I will do it. But extolling the virtues of reading the manual has been overdone so I don't do it.

You should be able to simply reset it. Lots of ppl running their own schedule for oil change will lead this issue. Just reset it... or you have to reset it after your own oil change.

Mine is due too

I've 5100 miles and oil life <15% with "A1 dues soon" message in the MID. I called the dealer and said you can service when you get the message or 10000 miles whichever occurs first. Quoted $75 for oil change nad rotation. Will see if I can rotate free at Costco and will get oil changed at the dealer.

Note: Moving MID arrow < or > goes to original display of miles.
