i have a 2002 TL wasnt' sure of the horsepower or torque of the vehicle or what is should run in the quarter but i have some buddies up a oreilly here in missouri and one of them has a new gt he said his last pass was a 13.95 stock i think he is lying but i told him we should run our cars pretty good chance of getting beat but what the hell. so we went to an area to line them up (i have video of the race it will be on streetfire soon) he let me honk since i was slower and we went i will admit he had a bad start it was a manual but it was just a little bog of the start but i stuck it into the slap shifter and went hard. i was very suprised to see he didnt' catch me until after 115 miles an hour. it was freakin awesome. my car had ngk iridium spark plugs 91 octane gas and the intake resonator takin out needless to say i was pretty happy.

 

Nice race. Your friend needs some driving lessons though. He should have pulled on you from the getgo. That doesn't matter though because now you can give him lots of crap for not being able to pull on you. He has the better power to weight ratio and torque to weight ratio lol.

 

racing to 107-108 is more than enough man, lol... I believe your car traps at arond 94-97. his @ around 100+ so good run ..

Im sorry to say but the mustang should have walked you very bad. He must suck at driving, your car has potential only when you mod the heck out of it, but for your car being stock your talking about racing a mustang that should run in the high 13's. Your car stock probably runs a low 15. When my 99 tl was stock it was a dog. High 15's I would say.

do you have a type s? if so, magazine times are around 14.8s, although obviously there are people who are much faster than that stock.

yea, your friend needs to learn how to drive. Although I dont know what year the GT is that you raced, I raced a newer GT about 2 months ago... That thing made my car feel like a Geo Metro or something, slow. But I gave him a thumbsup and i took my loss and went on my way.

 

If he really runs 13.95, then you should've been seeing his tail lights, maybe he meant to say 14.95.

 

I beat a newer GT about a year ago and I have a type s with mods... ... The GT should of spanked me but obivously the kid didn't know how to drive!

 

i raced a brand new GT and killed it @ hwy speeds...raced an 06 GT manual and it was an even race all the way to bout 100...he said he had intake and stage 1 exhaust...he was very surprised

a new GT driven by a good driver will easily beat a TL Type-S, let alone a TL-P...

 

not with all the stuff i have in my car...STOCK GT's are lunch for the J32

 

Even a bad driver in a GT should be able to pull on a TL-p. I got beat by a modded EG Civic.. I don't understand how people beat certain cars in their base TL's. Maybe my shit is broke.

 

The thing with my car is from a roll i can get beat by a civic si but from a dig i beat a hemi charger through third gear I dunno all i have is the UR crank pulley exhast and intake resonator deletes and the Jet performance module (I would recommend that to anyone)
