First post and questions!

Evening all.

I got my first job after graduating collage and I got a 2006 Acura TL with 52,000 miles in Redondo Red Pearl with tan interior as my first car (it was a bargain).

Immaculate and I think no one ever sat in the passenger seat or back....

I have been driving Honda/Acura all my life (Honda accord stick, Integra GSR, Honda Crosstour, Acura RL and so on) but they were my parents cars.

Now I am thinking of getting a dash cam. I see people using Blackvue and liking it but I also read an equal number of threads about dead batteries, Korean language issues, and over heating with some models. I like its features like the motion sensor, stop recording if low battery, record if noise, ect but I want some thing that once set up I hope to never worry about it again.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it matters I am in the United States.

Congrats and welcome. Great low mileage car. I know nothing about dash-cams, but my suggestion would be to make sure your protect the transmission by replacing the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switches (use search for the DIY), and change out the old transmission fluid. You can use the new Acura DW1, but the experts on this board swear by Redline DW4 or other DexIII ATF. These two simple maintenance items can save you a lot of grief later on, so you can enjoy the car for many miles to come. Some other advice and observations here: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/new-tl-s-owner-4-month-impressions-884488/

I saw that thread and that is what pushed me over the edge to look at them and get one in the near future.
I just read some stuff about getting a Korean version and it not liking to switch to English or some older generation ones (not season 2??) can over heat. And I am not sure if I should get the 500GW, 400-ll or the normal 400 (used in the thread). I am moving to texas and the over heating worries me.

And I am planning on replacing the trans fluid next week.

Bah. Can't find the edit button.

And a link to the transmission switch DIY would be good. Looking for it atm with not much luck. Might need another key word to search for it.

Congrats on the RRP, be sure and post some pics when you get a chance. A dash cam isn't a bad idea, I just ordered one a few days ago. They can really save your neck if you get in an accident where its your word against the other guys. I also got mine for entertainment value, I see some funny Sh!t now and then while im driving.
