firSt KILL

I have a 2003 TL with a CompTech IceBox, ThermoBlok Spacers, headers, and CompTech mufflers. Just me in the car but I had 4 rotors, pads, spring compressors, a jack, and two jack stands in the trunk.

On the way home from a friends house tonight I caught a light, and being tired I was just relaxing and day dreaming with my radio on and the AC blasting. After I had been sitting at the light for awhile, I look over and notice a silver Mercedes Benz had sneaked up in the lane next to me, pulled about 1/3 a car lengths ahead. As soon as I noticed that I look up at the light because the two lane road we were on (College Dr.) merges into one lane (Lee Dr.) and having been sitting at the light longer than him, I wanted to make sure that I was the first car to go and that he was going to merge behind me. As soon as I look up the light turns green and he gunned it just before I did. I don't know how long we went at it or what mph I was at but I had pulled ahead by about 1/4 a car by the time he called it quits and merged. So that makes me 1-1 racing so far. I had previously lost to a BMW 3.0i Z4 with just the CompTech IceBox.

As I was very fatigued and this happened so quickly and so spontaneoulsy, I didn't get a good look at my opponent's car or how many people he had in it. It was a newer Benz, probably an e320.

I couldn't say for certain. When I pulled off into my apartment complex I made sure to catch a glimpse of the rear so I could look up what vechicle it was. It's taillights were very similar to this:

While I cannot confirm, infact, that it was a e320, off of the information I have that is my best guess.

What in my recounting of events makes you wonder if it was a c-class as opposed to the origionally suggested e320?

c320's aren't very fast and you're car should take it easily even with your AC on and 80lbs in the trunk.

congrats TLsu! I like your attitude man, "I wanted to make sure that I was the first car to go and that he was going to merge behind me." that's one of the best line I have ever heard :P

I believe you're the one that was racing someone when you were admittently "fatigued". That's not too bright.

Street racing isn't the most intelligent thing to do period. I do apologize for my language, I overreacted. BUT, I really don't care for your holier-than-thou attitude. We're talking about a 221hp e320...not an e55.

I was just being intrigue man. Good Kill, but if you want a good race that would be in your class coming from mercedes go against a C350. I think that would be a very intriguing race wouldn't you say. Here's a link >>> http://www.mbusa.com/models/features...0WZ&class=07_C

I concur, street racing is stupid. However, so is binge drinking on weekends and jumping off a cliff into the Tennessee River with my friends during the summers. No need for a 19 year old to pass judgement on what I do or play my parent.

Thanks for the link, that C-Class looks pretty sweet. I would probably lose, as that car seems to have more HP and torque than mine. However, it would still be plenty of fun. I'm not so much looking to race at all much less race any certain type of car. It was more along the lines of, I had been waiting and I wasn't going to let a car that had just pulled up at the last second speed ahead of me without a fight. I would have done the same thing if a 1990 camry was next to me or if a M5 had just pulled up. It was the principal.

i would think you need at least a 2nd gen TL-S to beat a C350.

The principle of -I waited longest, thats a good way to get in an accident!

As you get more miles under your belt, you will learn that ALL Mercedes drivers feel they are entiltled to always be first - even if your car is in the way- they are oblivious to your presence, between the cell phone- sweet sound system and whatever else...

I disagree with your sweeping genralization of Mercedes drivers, but I guess that really isn't the point.

^LOL^ Anyhow, I have found most C and E-class to be slow and heavy. I raced a CLK350 from a roll and won in my TL-P, but it was a drivers race through traffic (talk about fucking dumb!!). Those cars may have lotsa ponies, but they are very heavy and most of the ppl who drive them aren't the most talented drivers either. They just think they are and assume your gonna move out of their way for them. Sorry for he vast generalization, but i've beaten 3 series BMW drivers in a Dodge Spirit R/T, just because they suck at driving their expensive cars.
