Finishing up rear a-spec kit install -Question

I am installing the rear a-spec kit on a 08 TL-S.

The instructions are saying to cut out around the exhaust tip area on the bumper, but the picture in the guide looks like a base rear bumper (the guide says 2007 TL Type S).

Do i need to cut?

Any help is greatly appreciated... Already have the bumper off and I am trying to finish this up.

Thanks.

did you put the lip up against the bumper? Does it need to be cut or not?

Just for the record, going from standard to aspec is a no-cut too... in case anyone cared.

^ if you have a standard rear end and your going to a type s aspec kit then yes you need to cut that is what my comment was aimed for

^I put an A-Spec kit on my standard with no cutting. It's not a Type-S A-Spec kit (didn't knwo they made a seperate kit).. why would one use the Type-S on a non type-S unless they also used the Type-S exhaust tips... which I didn't.

So you don't have to cut an 05 base bumper to fit an aspec rear lip?

^ This. And if you want the rear Type S A-Spec on your Base, don't be afraid of the cutting it really isn't a big deal.

Thanks for clearing that up guys. I'll be happy when the rear lip gets done and I can appreciate my new look. Last part of the install.
