Finally got the TL...
Finally got the TL...
Hey everyone!
After researching for months and trying to decide between many different models, I finally got my TL and I love it!
Coming from this:

(02 Audi A4 1.8L)
the TL is (so far) a big improvement to me. Don't get me wrong, I loved this car, and I honestly was sad to see it go, but after 2 years and almost 30,000 miles I wanted/needed something new.
Now I'll say why I ruled out the other models I was considering, and tell why the TL came out on top for me. I just figure this might be helpful incase others are considering the same models.
IS250 ('06+): I really like the car, but for what you get I really think the price is too high. I also have heard of many reliability issues that were very prominent in the 06-07ish models and I didn't want to buy someone else's problem. The interior is nothing special either.
G35 ('07-08): Again, love the car, the way it sounds, and the aggressive EXTERIOR styling. After hearing constant complaints about MPG (especially with today's gas prices+requirement of premium fuel), and seeing how poor quality the interior materials were, I decided to rule this one out. A luxury vehicle that is relatively young should not have the interior peeling/scratching off. It was something I saw all the time and it was very unattractive.
TSX (09+): At first I loved the TSX and I could not decide between it and the TL, I kept going back and forth between the two and I really did not know which to choose. The small things that ruled the TSX out for me were that I did not like the interior as much as I like the TL's interior, I could not find one with NAV in my price range, and that it was a smaller car (like my A4) and I decided I wanted a little more room. Otherwise I love the TSX, but I do not regret choosing the TL.
Now to car I finally got: 2006 TL ASM/Ebony with Nav!
I was holding out for one that already had aspec installed (incl. wheels) but the excellent (IMO) interior condition of this car along with warranty for a couple more years made this one my choice.
The car the day after I brought it home:

of course it was a snowstorm the night I had to pick the car up, so it was all dirty right after the previous owner had it detailed -_-
Interior:

So far, I love the car! It's fun to drive, very comfortable, has an amazing sound system, I love the XM, and it has a lot of neat little hidden features that I didn't notice before owning the car.
The only gripe I have as of now is this:

Whenever a passenger closes their door, the side storage compartment opens? It's not a huge deal, just a little annoying. Anyone know what I could do to fix it? Also still figuring out how pleased I am with the MPG..
Anyways, the car is great and I'm glad to be part of this very informational community

Congrats on your SSM TL.
Register it at www.myacura.com and store your Navi and Radio codes there for safe keeping. That sunglass holder is also removable if you don't want it there.

Congrats on the TL and welcome to the TL family dude!
I always wanted an A4 and when I test drove one I was disappointed. Next car I drove was the TL and the rest was history.
You made the right choice! I couldn't be happier with the car and yours looks like its in great shape. I have the same problem with my passenger door, had no idea thats what was causing it lol

Grats on the TL, welcome to the TL club
I agree on all points about the G35. It looks good from the outside and sounds great. Everything else is just meh. You also bring valid negatives on the other types of cars. TL brings a good balance to everything you want/need.

Thanks everyone for the welcomes/complements!
Thanks! It honestly wasn't the best...everything was unnecessarily expensive/complicated in my opinion. That and the fact that Audi barely updated the interior of the A4 until 2009 is why I didn't even consider the A4 again. Quattro AWD is unbeatable though
I actually bought it from a private seller who wanted $17,500. I tried to get him down to 16k but he said $16,500 was the lowest he would go. I took it a couple of days later. It wasn't a horrible deal, but I don't think it was the best deal I could have possibly found either.
70k miles too, by the way.

Anyways, took my car to the dealer today for an inspection and oil change, and I'm 80% sure they dented my passenger door

It definitely wasn't there when I bought the car, and I don't see how anyone could have done it at school. Any chance they'll admit it/be able to do something about it?
