After several months of negotiating and test driving a bunch of cars (335i, IS350, 528i, 350z...) I decided on a 2008 WDP TL with Nav. I've only had it for a couple of days but I already love this car.



I'm new to the site and don't know much about modding but I like the way the clear headlights look. How difficult is that mod?

Welcome to the AZ community and nice choice! You don't have to be big on modding to be part of our family here. I'd suggest getting some tints obviously and whatever you think is tasteful. If you do a search for the headlight mod you will find a very detailed DIY to get an idea of exactly what's involved!

 

Thanks. Tints are definetely coming soon, prob 30% all around. I bought the car late Saturday so they couldnt do the tints then.

Welcome and a BIG congrats!! I have been apart of the forum for just under 2 months, and it is awesome! However, early on u will be able to find most of your initial questions by the search mode (key word), but again, congrats and nice WDP...btw, I have also seen first hand how there are 2 sides when it comes to NBP > WDP lol, just lettin u know that u officially have chosen your side... looks great man!!

Actually, my top two choices were NBP and WDP but since i already have a black car, I went with the WDP.

congrats! i just got mines recently about 2 weeks ago. I LOVE IT! WDP ftw!...i love black cars and the NBP on the TLs are sweet but when it comes to keeping it clean, it can be a pain in the ass.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to a very insightful and knowledgeable community. You'll definitely find just about everything you want to know about the TL on here.

With the headlight clearing mod... Just make sure that you can pass inspection (if TX requires inspections) if you remove the yellow lens... maybe you can put in a chrome painted bulb that flashes yellow. In VA the laws are strict and I've heard of people having troubles getting their cars passed with cleared headlights. Due to this I chose to black mine out, which still looks great and complys fully with the law.

Congrats man! I just bought a 08 KBP TL-S. I have had it for 4 days now and it is awsome. So much to do when you look around on this community. When I was looking to buy a new car this site was one of the reasons I bought the car. I went 20% all the way around and it looks sick!

Seeing that you are from cali, you're probably going to laugh(I know I did when I moved down from ny). The house is about 2300 sq ft and it sells for 189K brand new.

 

Sigh .... wish I could be there ! .... at least we all have our TL to enjoy ...

 

Congrats on the car. 189k for a nice new home... That wouldn't even buy a closet in the Bay Area. The last condo I was looking at went for 288k and it was 1br 1ba and a carport lol.
