Finally bought a '08 Type S (noob)
New member here and finally pull the trigger and got myself an 08 type s with 124k on it, already having fun with it .
So luckily the dealer did not drill holes in the front bumper for my license plate but now I'm on the hunt for tow plate bracket, do any of you know a place where i can buy one from locally in ontario canada thats not that expensive lol.
Also apart from timing belt and water pump, what other major maintenance should i be looking into with this amount of km.
Thanks

Looks good, congrats! I got my Type S about a year ago with around 84,000 miles and have only needed to put in a new battery since then. I'm not sure how much sun you get where you are, but I'd also recommend getting some Aerospace 303 spray for the dashboard as well as a sun visor to prevent the dreaded cracking.

Definitely perform maintenance on all fluids, and inspect brakes and tires to make sure everything is safe. If you are interested in any performance upgrades, shoot me a PM or visit our website.

Congrats! I was looking for a TL-S as well but couldn't find any with reasonable mileage. I think they're the best looking TL of all gens. You're brave for getting black. My other car is black and it's like a second job keeping it clean.

LOL yeah especially since its a FORD plate frame!
Check out RHO plate dot com. they have a tow hook bracket that looks pretty good IMO. Not everyone's favorite, but I love mine. They used to have a lower quality cheaper one for around 70$ but now have this higher quality redesigned version for $100.

I know people who do it cheap:
Just bring in the tow hook to home depot and match up the thread specs to a long bolt and use the bolt to mount the license plate holder to the tow hook slot.
