If it looks like a true CSL trunk it most likely wont follow the roof spoiler a single bit as the csl trunk is clearly very round and the roof spoiler looks more squared off to me.

No offense to this thread or anyone interested in having this but whats the fascination with a CSL trunk. CSL is BMW and this is Acura. Whats wrong with an oem cf trunk or an oem type s spoiler in cf etc.

Count me in, but I would definitely like to see the finished product first before fully committing to this....But like someone was saying why not make the CF trunk like the oem type s trunk and spoiler and mold that design into CF trunk.....but either way I'm down with whatever desicion

I think the CSL compliments the TL quite well... I mean if you look at the trunk it already has the shape for the CSL style. The concept TL even had a CSL trunk.

Yea the trunk alone has the shape because of the way the quarter panels flow into the trunk but the rest of the car is all angles, I dont see much roundness on our bodies compared to an e46.

I think they're would be more interest in an oem cf trunk or maybe some other body parts like a new front lip or a replacement for the home depot lip.

i like the cf csl trunk idea but i think i like the idea of a cf oem trunk with the type s lip already molded in better, imo

That is a good point.
I'm wondering if a flat-tipped CSL would flow a little better than the rounded tipped?

Actually.. probably not as the side of the trunk wouldn't flow with it... would it??

The roundness I was talking about wasnt the edge of the trunk I meant the trunk in general from the view from the back.

It works with an m3 because of the overall design of the car. We dont have round bodylines or curves, the TL is more edgy.

Yeah, I'm aware of that.

Was just wondering, actually, which would flow better with the TL.
KB1spec's CSL [it has a rounded tip] or of the one I posted.

xclsuv, did u mold the kb1spec's csl spoiler or you got the trunk custom made? Also did you mold the apec skirt as well? its def aspec skirt, looks like you molded on to the bumper. And to the OP, you posted my CSL spoiler picture. It actually looks nice. I was actually thinking of molding it on to the trunk like xclsuv but decided to just leave it as a spoiler. Is your custom made CSL trunk going to look just like the one on bmw? If yes then i might consider although i did spend crap load of money getting the csl spoiler installed on to my TL-S

I'm planning on making the trunk look like the one of the BMW, in general. Meaning, we will start off with a CSL trunk in mind, but will adapt to change the overall shape during process as we see fit to the shape of the TL. I suspect it will turn out in a happy medium in between the "boxy" look of the TL stock and the posted trunk.

actually i used a real authentic vornstiener carbon fiber csl trunk for an e 46 and we cut the wing off of it and molded it to my stock trunk lid becuase the real csl trunk has a higher pitch then the lip wing that was offered. and besides i like the one off mods

xclusv that must have cost you a fortune. cut the original e46 then mold it on to your tl? wow seems like lot of work.

700 and change for the trunk? on top of that if you want to paint it thats another 300. so youre looking at 1000 plus. hm is it worth the mod? i think ill just settle with my csl spoiler instead or even just get it molded with my trunk. pics will be up soon.

^nice.

I think ATLP should make a a body kit instead of wasting time on this! Just MO. !!

Make the front like a 2 door 335i bimmer, sides like a S4, rear like the m3

My was molded on to my trunk and the one you had was just an add-on.
So on my the edges blended to make it seamless.
