Feedback from TL-S owners

I am just about ready to pull the trigger on a 2007 TL-S. I have looked at all of the competitiors, and I really like the G35, but all things considered (Family, price, performance, resale, current interest rates, etc) I believe that the TL-S will be the best car. I currently have a 2004 TSX and was not sure if the TL-S would be a big enough change.

I have been working with a dealer here in Atlanta, and they have been pretty persistent. I have told them that they need to get me to invoice to close the deal. They were at 36,800 + TTD a few weeks ago.

Now that some of you have had yours for a few weeks, are you still happy with your purchase? Any problems? Would you reccommend this car?

Thanks!

You're smokin dope if you think the TL-S has better performance than the '07 G35

Haven't smoked dope since '96 at a show in Philly. Jerry waved to us as he walked off stage (our seats were behind the stage).

As it turns out, the G35 is quicker, better handling, and faster than the TL-S. But as my message stated, if you look at the overall blend of performance, value, reliability, size, gas mileage, etc, the TL-S is a better all around car, just not a better performance car than the G.

......and the most efficient way to smoke dope is to convert a beer ball into a water bong, but that was way back in high school, late '80's.

Jackson Acura in Roswell. The fact that they are new should work to my advantage. The sales manager is really nice and has been very helpful as has the salesman.

They have a NBP/Ebony/5AT that I like.

The strange part is that the lease buy-out on my TSX is 2K more for the dealer than for me. They have offered me 1K above my buy-out for it.

Have you had any issues with dashboard rattling? I test drove 2 different ones, and they both had rattles in different locations. One was to the left of the gauge cluster. The other was from behind the rear passenger seat.

Hey Saw, I am also looking to buy a new TL in Atl. Where in Roswell is Jackson Acura? I have never heard of it. Will you let me know what your deal is when you get it? I am going to pull the trigger on my birthday (Dec 30th) and it would be good to know what someone else paid at the same dealer.

thanks

Jackson Acura is on Alpharetta Highway just north of Mansell on the left. They just opened a few months ago. My salesman's name is Vladamir Jaksic (or something close to that). He has been very good. He is persistent , which means he is hungry. I have been able to take the TL-S home for the night.
If they can do the TL-S for under 36K + TTD, I am going to get it. As a frame of reference, Lexus is discounting the IS350 $3500. (MSRP 42,407 down to 39K) but it does not have a memory driver's seat, BS for a 40K car.

Under 36K and 4.9% financing, the TL-S will be hard to beat.

I want manual, but have to get automatic. Don't feel bad for me, I have a 1999 Miata 5MT. My wife cannot drive a manual, so auto it is!

I would prefer RWD, don't need AWD anymore (from Buffalo, NY). FWD is fine, and it sounds like the torque-steer issue has been resolved.

The TL-S is like you said a great all around performer it's what you call the jack of all trades. It doesn't do one thing particular better then the other makes out there but it does do alot of things well.

Certain Markets will be tougher then others but given it is the year end and most of the cars are still sitting on their lots they will definitely be looking to wheel and deal. Couple that with the 4.9% and it's a can't miss deal.

love my 07 tls, so nice, and once you add everything that the tl has to g35 it is more expensive and interior still looks like crap compared to tl s. no complaints ever with acura since this is my second acura.

saw 1 , I got mine for $36,8 K out the door , sound's like a decent deal to me! ,and this car ( TYPE-S) just rolled out too!......and it's not even 2007 yet! , test drive it you'll fall in love it!...the G35 is a decent car, but has far less appeal to me than the TL-S and look's not as classy, they have a lower re-sale value in the long run!, cheap looking interior's and average and below average Consumer Report Rating's..the TL might of had some previous tranny issue's , but so did Infinity, along with theye'r engine problem's!....the TL-S is roomier also!.....and way more reliable !.......plus you can smoke and grin in harmony in your new TL-S!......may the HONDA GOD'S smile upon you!.....PEACE!....and good luck with your choice!

That seems like a great price to me. I was just at my dealer this afternoon and saw a TLs on the floor with a price tag of $43,000 and change. I was not tempted.

one thing I can say is that the car is more of a blast to drive than when I first got it. 2k miles now and it accel's harder than the first day I got it. Tl-s is just an all around car. if all you want is the 300 mark go with the G but for resale and everything else go with acura. Have the tl-s and loving everday of it

Love It

Well all I can say is I love my 2007 TLS auto more and more. I have experienced buyers remorse with every new car I have owned except for this one.

There is still some torque steer if you hammer it while turning the wheel; it caught me off guard the first time but is easily controlled. Straight line acceleration has no torque steer. What amazes me is the acceleration. This car when you dip hard into the gas has real power, and when it shifts (crisp) the power doesn't dip or drop off. I am afraid I will be getting a speeding ticket if I can't control myself.

Today in heavy rain I drove it very agressively, and it never felt uncomposed or even close to losing traction. Acura made this car for people like me, i'm almost impossible to satisfy.

The car sounds like a freakin corvette. Everyone checks out my Acura when they hear the exhaust.

Take my advice BUY IT, you will be happy!

very interesting Kobi, I felt the same way when I borrowed one for the day. I liked it better and better as the day went on.

Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread, you have all been very helpful. I am going to the dealer this afternoon.

Does anyone know the invoice price?

I can second that! and that is why we laugh when test drivers come back with their expert opinion on the cars we own !!

This car gets better and better especially as I am learning how to drive it !! The paddle shifters are a blast!! especially in the twisties......

Price

San Antonio has the A/T type-S for 36k....just 3,400 above the T/L non-navi....I get the idea the S is moving slow??? must be the wheels as they had one with A-spec 18" wheels and it looked a lot better...but added 3,200 for the wheels and rubber....?

In San Diego I paid 35.5K...The TL-S is truly a perfect blend of style, power/speed, smoothness, and comfort. You will love the car!

Sadly I have all three of these rattles including one in the driver seat belt area (most consistent and annoying). However, other than that I just can't say enough how much I love my TL-S. Traded in my 2006 TL and what a difference.

I have this rattle (more of a tick tick sound) right above the passenger seat. It's near the beginning of the sun roof. Kinda driving me nuts.

I went to the dealer yesterday afternoon. They had a Silver/Ebony TL-S in the showroom.

I borrowed their demo for the afternoon, I am still impressed with the car.

The deal is for 35.5 + Tax. And....... They are giving me $1,000 over my lease buy-out. Positive equity on a lease, go figure, but I am not complaining. Instead of turning the car in and paying $395 disposition and $550 in mileage fee's, I get to add $1,000 to my down payment. I think this deal would be hard to beat at the Infiniti dealer.

I put down my deposit to hold the Silver/Ebony (not the one in the showroom) until I can pick it up on Monday.

Note: To get the price of 35.5K, I had to eliminate the wheel locks, trunk tray, and mud flaps(the protection package). I hate wheel locks, never had the trunk tray before, and the mud guards on the silver car are black and don't match!

=) Great deal.

The more you drive it the more you will love it. I have 480 mi on mine and can't wait til the 600 mark. Then I can really get on it =)

Overall this car puts a grin on my face everytime I drive it or find something new to play with. Still learning the voice commands and what not...

35.5k + tax is best deal I have heard of....would go for that...

As an aside if you do not like the wheels and do not want the price of 18" wheels and rubber, talk to your dealer and they should have some non-t-s 07 wheels/tires, as take offs, laying around and can swap even for the T-s set...also our dealer will chrome either wheel and the Ty-s wheel does seem to look better in chrome...
