Speedy or Luxurious ?
Few deserving cars in the industry have ever flown so consistently on the radar as the Acura TL has been in the last 3 years. The TL, the predecessor to the Vigor, younger sister to the RL, and older sister to the TSX, is the quickest among the siblings. Throughout its career, the TL has stood alone in the shadow since 1996 when it first appeared on the scene. In substance, the 3.2TL had all the necessary goodies: a 170hp V6, opulence, luxury and a comfortable ride. By 1999, the TL received many physical enhancements in the form of new bumpers, headlights trim and boosted its hp to 200. The slightly enhanced car enjoyed some success thanks to its handsome look. Up until 2003, the TL were popuplar but quickly disappeared among the crowd when parked in a crowded lot.
In 2004, a new breed of TL surfaced with its bulky and luxurious styling. The new TL got rid of the 3.2 badge with a promising 270hp 3.2L engine that delivers 70 more HP than the previous generation of TLs. Even though the TL garnered a number of accolades, it is now a quicker, more luxurious than its rival counterparts Infiniti, Lexus, BMW and Mercedes.

The 3rd Generation TL is a lovely automobile. Actually, it is gorgeous. Sitting on its own while being photographed, the TL is sleek, racy and flows beautifully. With its available ASPEC body kit that comes with either 18" or even 19" wheels. The car potentially makes the BMW 5 series looks like a flop of turd while parking next to it. In 2007, with the introduction of the new Type-S, with a new smoked out 19'' rims and a screaming 286hp 3.5L RL engine, it is utterly impossbile for one to not want to buy such a car under $40,000 with all the gadges inside. The TL now is fully loaded with Touch screen, voice command Navigation, reverse camera, Brembo Brake Kit, HID lights and available 6 speed manual transmission. What is there not to like about this car?

Besides the power, the TL offers its supreme luxurious leather and comfortable aptly describe the TL's passenger quarters. From the supportive leather seats to the unique well thought-out center-console, at the helm of the TL is where every long-distance driver wants to be. Fit and finish along with excellent materials combine to make the TL's dashboard one of the nicest in the business. Like every luxury car priced near the 3rd quarter of $100,000, the TL discards regular rotary knobs for the HVAC system. However, unlike most others, Acura manages to keep the controls very simple and extremely easy to consult.

With the addition of the Supercharger kit, stainless steel catback exhaust system, and 22'' rear sway bar from Comptech and 13'' Big Brake Kit from Rotora. The sweet; smooth, quiet and very even-tempered TL now screams and whines proudly and loudly. The Comptech Supercharged TL now outputs 319 HP to the wheel and is nothing short of a beast when the RPM hits 3000 or above. However, it is also a great daily driver for those who wish to kick back and relax and keep the car under 3000 RPM. The Acura TL, maybe the best bang for the buck car under $40,000. Tell me if you could get anything close to what Acura from BMW, Mercedes or even Lexus? I thought not.

That was fun. 1st Gen TL had a 2.5L 5 cyl with 176 HP and 3.2L V6 with 200HP. The 2nd Gen (99+ TL) had 220 HP if I am not mistaken, and of course the Type-s had 260 HP. . That was fun though. I love the pictures. I would like to see more of this supercharged TYpe-S. I will have to give you some rep points for this one. This was way better than the files I have been reading through at work today.
