Fax of quote question.

I sent out a fax of the TL I'm looking for, with msrp and invoice prices on it, trying to get quotes from seven dealerships in the northwest. I haven't heard anything from any of them for 3+ days. Has anyone had the same experience, or am I not patient enough?

Thanks.

Try using their internet site to solicit quotes by email. I don't think it is necessary to include invoice and MSRP prices ... they should be well aware of those.

Simply let them know what you eant (color, tranny, nav), and when you want it. They should come back with a price. Often there is a little wiggle room after that.

Good luck.

www.carpoint.com will show you those two prices. I did the same thing as you with 3 dealers and got one reply I did'nt ask for the invoice price just the price they would sell one to me for. I dobt they wanna tell you the invoice price nor will they want to seel you a tl for invoice... maybe close but it is a popular well selling car. The post above this one should work for you also. Good luck

internet sales rep (email) or in-person visits are the best ways to get dialogue going on a price.

fax probably seems hoaky to them and the right person is probably not looking at it.

cheers

I tried the internet quote deal on the Acura site. All I got back was a standardized form from a couple of dealers. I directed all of the faxes to the "Internet Manager". This is the body of the fax.

I’m faxing around to seven regional dealerships looking for:
2005 Acura TL 5at – Anthracite/Ebony or Deep Green Pearl/Parchment.
Navi Non-Navi
Msrp $32,900 $34,900

Invoice* $29,982 $31,803

Dest. $570 $570
*price does not reflect 3% dealer hold back

Pro pack is also not desired. Please fax or email me your availability and best price. I am anticipating purchasing a TL within the next week or two. Your response in my quest would be appreciated.

Maybe I come off to pushy or uptight. I based it off of a friends' fax that he used to get a yukon. It worked well for him. Maybe TL's are a different ball game. Whats done is done I guess.

Possibly good news. My wifes' laptop never sent the faxes. Sync problem I guess. I searched on the site for examples of faxes but came up empty. Any changes that you'd suggest? or just send it the way it is.

I would suggest spending some time looking at the features of the Nav on a demo model. Then, make a decision on whether you want the nav or not, and solicit the quotes based on that decision.

My local dealerships also would not respond to any of my fax requests for quotes.

The one that did simply asked me to come into the dealership and they will "do whatever it takes to win my business".

Bastards!

I just bought a TL at Acura of Portland. 05/SSM/Ebony/No-Nav. Prot Pkg. $32500. + $168ttl + $50 bogus document fee (too tired to fight it that day). No tax in Oregon. Total OTD = $32718.00 That's the best I could find around here. The other Portland dealership was only giving $750 off MSRP. They wouldn't deal with invoice at all. I believe I got about $1250 off MSRP. Car had 7 miles on it.

Good Luck!
