Fastline Performance EDFC compatible strut braces in production and for sale now.

BARS ARE NOW FOR SALE. In stock NOW!
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/product.php?productid=64861

Please note the issues people had mentioned regarding the threads not coming far enough up for safe mounting have been noted. The pre-production bar had been made from scrap material and was not fully spec'd to meet final demand. The production parts are made from stronger material that has thinner sections. We are going to an much extent as possible to make sure this bar is the best available for the TL! If you have any other suggestions for production we are happy to listen. We think it is worked our really very well so far.

These are now available for ordering! Note we have added some different finishing options.

We can paint the bar a satin black as a base color.
We also offer a black chrome finish.

If you have not seen black chrome it is truly amazing looking. Here is a pic for an example of what it looks like.

COMBO it with a New EDFC Controller (black case) and Motor kit!
We are also offering a stupid-low price on the EDFC if you don't have one and want to get one along with out brace.[/QUOTE]

Works with standard engine covers!

you know ziners Marcus- too lazy to click a link for info
Perhaps swap the pic of wheel for pic of bar itself, and installed on gen3 with edfc- so they can see what its for

Those gen3 with or wanting edfc had an interferance issue on the stock bar with the motors
That has been resolved with this long awaited bar, now you can still have a strut bar for frame stiffness AND run edfc on Tein SS shocks--its a very cool setup

Price right now is:

$199..

+20 for Satin Black
+80 for Chrome
+120 for Color Match
+150 for Black Chrome

I think you guys should try to do a big group buy!
I definitely don't have money for tein SS+ EDFC.. but it still looks good for those who have that setup, want a different look, may get EDFC in the future..

tube is hollow but is chromoly instead of mild steel and is much thicker wall diameter.

black chrome is not powdercoating...its plating...we are not powder coating.

"You guys finishing the black chrome with the powder coat and then laying the clear on top?"
---this sentence is confusing to me. You have chrome, powdercoat, and paint all going on one bar???

Is the bar that came with the car that bad and under designed?? Do you have that noticeable difference? You can always but a stronger bar on , but if you don't need the added strength is useless.

it's not that the our OEM strut bar is bad and/or under designed. It's that it doesn't allow for EDFC to be hooked up. Since he was making it for that purpose, he decided to strengthen the bar as well.

its about the motors that go on the top of the shocks for EDFC- there was not enough room in the center plate of the stock bars mounting to allow the motors

While some opted to run without a bar in order to have edfc- this fixes the problem and gives edfc-plus plastic tabs for the stock covers to attach- and stronger bar overall

This bar will definitely be stiffer than stock (and RV6), accomodates the EDFC and also accomodates all of the original components that mount to the stock bar. Seems like a whole lot of win.

Stiffer bar = less flex in the car from hard cornering which makes the car more responsive. Because the bar is rigid all the way thorugh, the differences should be noticeable, especially if switching to this one from a strut bar that has pivot points.

The brace does not have a master brace as the RD was a little more than we initially looked at doing. If someone has a test car that we can use for adding this feature we'd be happy to supply a free bar. Just need someone in Socal to leave their car for about 2-3 days.

Initially we made this for edfc compatibility, but since that already exists we decided to make it something that was a significant upgrade. I think a lot of people will want the RV6 for cost reasons, but this bar is definitely stronger. The stock bar feels puny compared to this.

when you can locate the strut towers to a stationary place-and each other- not subject to massive flexing at top mount, the steering can respond better, and your shocks have a stable platform to do their job of absobing bumps and keeping the tires in contact with the road surface

Im gen2, and with a lower frame crossbrace, and upper strut bar in addittion to the stock upper strut bar,,,now its a handeling machine on tein ss

The stock upper crossbar is used to locate the body panels as much as help the car from flexing so bad--these are merely beer cans in the waiting after all~

Ok, I love these bars, but I'm waiting until my extended warranty expires at 100K to lower my car. I'm planning on getting this bar in the future, but are these only available now or will you be offering these in the future as well? I'm asking because it will most likely be next summer before I lower my car.....and have the money.

Thanks!
Brian

Has anyone bought this bar, installed it, and able to give us a comparison to the stock bar. I have the Progress RSB on the stiffest setting. Now, I am wondering if I add this, what (if any) difference will it make over the stock front strut tower brace. I am all for minimal body roll, body flex, and tighter cornering, but will this make any difference (especially given that I have the Progress RSB already)? I am inclined to think that the H&R front sway bar would be a better investment.

Thanks!

The best bang for the buck is upgrading to the TYPE S front sway bar, but the HR would be slightly better due to increased thickness. But your inclination is right, front sway bar upgrade > front strut bar upgrade in terms of increasing handling characteristics of our vehicle.

Upgrading the front sway bar will add more stability in fast corners but will understeer more on the street. We don't usually recommend changing this bar. Just saying the front sway bar will improve across the board is not accurate really.

The strut bar however, will help keep the chassis stiffer, allowing you to transition the car better and have more accurate damper and steering response. These usually improve handling a lot, not by actually changing the suspension, but more by improving driver confidence.

What's up with the price of the EFDC in the drop down box? It says to add $350! MSRP is only $165.

$165 is for the motor kit silly. You gotta add the cost of controller too!!!!

EDFC Controller Kit + EDFC Motor Kit = COMPLETE
EDFC Kit

$253 + $165 = $418 MSRP!

Momma always said to think before you type. I thought 165 was for motors and controller. My bad.
