Ok, just read what you posted from the article, damn impressive for a stock short block, and they did modify the injection, as I mentioned they would have to, but that is a bolt on, not internal so I'll agree, an excellent setup for consistent 10's.

I gave up fighting a long time ago since jail was a bad option. Internet jabs are legal. The keyboard is mightier and healthier and more fun than the sword!

And VTECH is very accurate in calling you a pencil d*ck...all Slomero owners are pencil d*cks. They think a big crappy engine and crappy interior make their tiny wieners bigger.

But alas they don't. You're a pencil d*ck with a crappy car. Move on.

Every "fact" you state is erroneous.

Personally I think the Mustang GT (until this new one anyway) had cheap a interior and this was because in order to keep it selling at the price point they have, some things are done on the cheap.

Same with the now defunct Camaro, why someone would compare a TL with the Camaro is beyond me. The fact they got 1 LS1 powered Camaro into the 10's is all fine and dandy, but with a stock bottom end it isn't going to last long.

Ford built a Fairlane in the early sixties that only needed slicks and a lunatic behind the wheel to get into the 10's, deep into the 10's all day long.

A TL in the 10's would be cool to see but it's unreasonable to expect an engine with very little after market support (for that kind of power) to run that fast without severe mod's to the chassis, tranny and engine. I'll lay odds it would cost an easy 15k plus.

It would cost WAY for than $15K to get the heftly FWD TL in the 10's.

Skeedatl,

I knew you'd be on the same page! I think you could do it with 15k, but can't prove it because I have no clue what parts are available. Heck shoe horn a Cammer into it!

It would take an all new chassis (to make it RWD). You also couldn't do it with the factory motor because it won't take the power adders needed. With FWD you simply have to do everything on the top end 'cause you can't put the power to pavement (conserving the energy) at launch. You either need upwards of 900HP or 650HP and RWD (650HP if it stays the same hefty weight). In either event, it's EXTREMELY expensive. It would be way cheaper to say use a competitor like the G35 where you already have tons of aftermarket mass produced parts as well as a RWD or AWD with the G35x platform.

I've seen plenty of FWD cars running 10's, import days at the track brings out everything from 24 seconds POS with huge wings and garbage cans strapped to them to 9 second beasts running FWD and massive modifications. Even a 4cyl once, gad.

I agree doing it with the TL is a very bad idea though, way too much hassle.

Yeah but like I said in my first post...they're gutted karts like CRX's. FWD is just a giant hurdle to overcome. You can boost the snot out of a well built 4-bangar, that's not a problem...it's all about power to the pavement and FWD just makes it WAY harder and ups the HP requirement to run 10's that much more.
