Is this a fair deal?

I'm looking into buying a 2005 Acura TL. It is satin silver metallic, has an automatic transmission, navigation system, and there are 79,000 miles on the car. The car is at a dealership listed for $14,995. I went and looked at the car and it seems to be in near perfect condition. I looked fairly meticulously over both the interior and exterior and couldn’t find anything that is worth noting. It has a clean Carfax report and an Autocheck score of 95. This dealership has a good reputation in the area but I still plan on having my mechanic look this car over before I purchase it.

If everything checks out with my mechanic, is $14,995 a fair price for this vehicle? Or do you think I have some room for negotiation? Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

It's a fair price but that doesn't mean you HAVE to pay that price. I would offer them $13,500 or $14,000 and see what they say.

I got my 04 6MT w/ navi at 52k for 14 flat, but from a private seller. Dealer wise, the mileage is a bit high for 14.9 I'd try to negotiate down more, towards 14 flat or in the 13s.

It cost 75 at my local japanese specialist to inspect (and damn did they do a good job.. noted all the small leaks that I would've thought were negligible. We're talking really, really small).

Check all the VINs on the door jambs, make sure they match.

that is kind of high in terms of price. iv been shopping Tls lately and iv seen 2005 s' with around 80 k miles going between $11,000 and $13,000. FYI i just purchased an 06 acura tl non navi w 64k miles for $15,000. if you want to spend around 15,000 i would look for an 06 or something with less mileage.

If you look hard enough you will find. I had the chance of purchasing at least 2 of them for under $20k a few months ago but I decided to stick with my 04

Well it also depends on where the OP lives too. But yes i agree that its a tad overpriced. I got my '04 6spd/nav 89k for 10300.
