Did a search on this, couldn't find anything. Does anyone know if the 2004 tl windows a factory tinted slightly like 90-95%? Thinking about adding tints, thinking of trying to keep them as legal as possible, so whatever I add on to the factory tint will be darker than a regular window without a tint.

Right. Factory glass comes at about 70% - 75%. This is common on virtually all new cars.

 

Does anyone know how it works then, if i ad 50% tint for the front, then 35% in the back, what is it actually (how does it add up)? it will be darker because of the window's tint.

 

I had 35% put all around on my 04 TL and it comes out to 32.0%, which is the darkest legal tint a car can have where I live. It will all depend on the company who makes the tint (some tints are thicker than others, etc.)

 

interesting, unfortunately, where I live (montreal), basically, were allowed 75% in the front, but they wont bother you if you have 50%. So I guess Im gonna have to go 50 in the front and 35 in the back.
