F106SX for 3rd gen TL

Can't seem to find a definitive answer if 3rd Get TL needs an adapter for Fumoto F106SX valve of if it would fit fine without it.. Can someone who has one confirm pls?

106N is the one with a nipple and 106 is without. I have the 106 and needed adapter.

OP should contact fumoto. the 106SX looks like the same profile as previous but has a bleeder bolt attachment instead of threading to the body of the valve.

i'd expect an adapter is needed to clear our oil pan area.

Yeah, I opted for the Nipple so I could add a piece of tube to it on oil changes to keep things neat

Why don't you just go buy it and try to install it and if it doesn't fit, then buy an adapter.

from the looks of it the 106SX may not need adapter because you can turn the valve to clear the notch in oil pan

So it screws in once and then a valve to drain the oil?
i thought I had read threads about people cracking the pan or something when tightening. Is that what you guys are hoping to avoid with it?

You can install the 106SX on the J series oil pan without the adapter, however, the valve will always have to point down which poses a risk of something hitting it on the road. Someone with an 8th gen accord V6 installed it on driveaccord.net noted this. The ability of the SX series being able to swing 360 degree is a moot point because of this oil pan's drain plug area design.

the 360 rotation really just eliminates the need for the adapter then

at the risk of having it hit something on the road

I'll just stick with my 106N and adapter that's worked for 4 years now
