Mannnn you guys are workin with some old systems up there. I work for the company that designed basically all the epass systems in the USA. There are a couple states and i think they are new york area, i would have to check, but other than that we designed all the RF systems.

So if you have any questions i would be more than happy to try and help...basically those expass systems work by RF (radio frequency) ID. We strongly suggest not trying to put it in your glovebox as sometimes it will work and sometimes it wont, depending on the angle and weather conditions. All the ,so we call old (see the pictures below), epass's are usually put up right behind the rear view mirror and you can't even see them.

As for those big license plate ones you guys have those are even more ancient as those were the previous version to what we have now. Just a little FYI, below are some pictures of our old tags (the black ones you have are 1st gen, the thick one in the picture below 2nd, and the sticker tag 3rd.)

The new ones we are working on will be basically like a sticker with a small RFID chip in them...very cool, and cheap :-D

Being as though i live in Florida, tolls are everywhere (EVERYWHERE), and all the old RF Modules do not support the new tags, so we are thinking within the next 2 years everything will be changed over and you will soon be able to buy ePass's out of vending machines (tourist thing, of course).

Cheese :-D

Basically when you ride through the epass look up and you should see something similar to those antennas (usually 2 of them, new ones only use 1). There are a couple states that already have the new systems implimented, one i know of for sure is Georgia 400.

Any questions i will be more than happy to answer if possible

Yeah i try and clean it up every now and then but it never stays that way, plus we hired all these new temps and a couple liked to play around with my equipment (they no longer work here though) It's a cool job because i get to work in the office if i want or go out in the field if i want. You wouldn't believe the money they make off tolls...or how many people run them too

So I'm aggrivated now cause I removed it and decided to use my "white box" at the very top of the factory tint strip. I just didn't like how you could still see the license plate bracket through the grille mesh.

Oh well, guess my thread was a waste of forum space!

It's not possible to be an idiot while driving such a nice ride!

Now if you were in front of me in a Ford Focus and the gate didn't go up????....well that's a different story.

I just wanted to respond to you about your cement situation. Go to an autostore or www.moreshine.com and get Stoner's Xenit - it removes EVERYTHING. I use it for my car and house. If that doesn't work try using hot white vinegar and spraying your car in the shade and let it keep soaking in and then try claying it. I would resort to a rubbing compound last and then polish/wax if it does in fact come off. Just my

^^

Thanks for the cement suggestion. I took my truck to my professional detailer and my cement cituation was the severest of nature. It had little beads over the entire truck, including the windows. It's very windy where I work in Hoboken and I was parked within a few feet from a construction site. (I have parked here numerous times and never had a problem)'

The cement was so dried on that when you even attempted to rub it off it severely scratched the paint.

Anyway, as mentioned it was covered under Comprehensive and my insurance company will receive payment from the cement company working the site.

In the end it was a blessing in disguise. The entire truck was repainted NBP to match my 07 TL-S. It's gorgeous :o ) I'll be posting before/after pictures.

GM should have made this truck in this color. It's so much better than their black onyx color!

Hey, thanks for the link. Been thinking about this recently. Just placed my order. Too bad, the shipping cost more than the holder! (~$3 for the hold and ~$5 for shipping)

^^ You can find these things all over in the northeast. I picked mine up for $5 at a local car wash here in Jersey.

Since it's already too late now, just keep this in mind if you need another in the future
