Extremely Pissed and just venting

This post is nothing more than to voice how much I hate people in the world and also get some sympathy since I know everyone here loves their car as much as I do mine. Why do people have no respect for other people's property? I mean what is the sense of damaging someone else's property for the simple act of vandalism. If I ever catch anyone doing anything to anyone's car there will be hell to pay. Ok I feel a little better now thanks lol

Oh and what caused this rant was yesterday after a long day of work (though fairly good day) I get back to my car that is sitting in the train parking lot like it always does without issue (normally) only to find what you see in the pic...what looks to be someone hitting my windshield like 3 times with something causing not only those 3 major impact circles but also a long crack from the center of one of those strikes to the bottom and top of the windshield. I file a police report (for the lot of good it will do) and I go to the village hall to report it (because in the lot there are signs that say lot under surveillance 24 hours and I can see 1 camera physically) only to be told "Oh no sir those are just dummy cameras" and basically I am S.O.L.

DAMN PEOPLE I wanna kill

Oh man that sucks, on the bright side car with busted windshield is better than car with keyed paint.

Man I wish those cameras worked. I think to most of us, that is one of our greatest fears. We have to leave our cars in the "hands" of the people around it. I just don't understand why people do things like that. I understand accidents (a little), but not this.

Wow, this calls for an altered version of SouthernBoy's sig, with his 'would you rather a gun or a cellphone'.
This one would be: if you see someone vandalizing your car, what would you rather have in your hand, a cellphone or a gun? .... Cuz that's what Jesus would do.

Ok semi jokes aside, that really stinks, but as said above, luckly it's just the windshield. I hope you won't be out of pocket though, those are around 900 bux to replace (atleast here in Florida)

Luckly he didn't nail your windshield pillard, fixing that wouldn't be fun.

If you have insurance the windshield is FREE, no deductable in FL. I've had mine replaced once so far.

Thanks for all the understanding...I knew people here would sympathize with how I am feeling and understand. When I told other people they are like oh it's just a car or oh just get it fixed. Fixing it isn't he point. The point is someone laid their hands on my car for the sole purpose of damaging it for no reason at all. But yes better a busted windshield than keyed paint. Believe you me I walked around the car at least 3 times checking it.

I believe i do have full glass coverage because I made sure to request it when I first got the car. I have to call them tonight to find out the process. And I will be requesting to let my dealer repair it rather than a hack shop.

And to answer you Riu it is the Valley Stream Train Station.

Again thanks for all the understanding it helps. But man until it is fixed whenever I drive the car I am staring right at the crack and it just pisses me off again.

Sorry to hear and see the damages. I hate a$$holes who doesn't respect ppl's rides. I really don't understand why they have to damage your windshield. At least the bright side is only the windshield that can be easily replaced compared to damaged paint.

People don't give a rats ass. I had my car sitting at a grocery store. My son calls and says someone hit the car with the door so hard that it shook the car. The driver is in the car and denies it so I open the door and show him the dent. He looks at me like I am over reacting so I ask him if it would be ok if I kick in all of his doors. He gives me his insurance information after that.

Even when you park far away, the assholes still want to park close to you.

Sorry to see that man!!!

Look at it this way though atleast the damage was only done to something relatively easily replaceable. I would mush rather have a broken windshield then a couple panels keyed which would then mean the car would have to be repainted which usually sucks for resale later and the fact that it never looks the same as factory paint.
Make sure to get OEM glass.

Good for you!!! Nothing pisses me off more than some asshole who slams their door into yours and could careless. Glad to see you got his info!

Yikes, it could be worst actually. I rather walk out to see my car like that, then my headlights smashed or car being keyed.

Don't worry he/she will get what's coming to them.

I completely understand being thoroughly pissed about this and praying for their bloody and painful deaths. Consider moving out of New York to somewhere where there is less chance of someone damaging your property.

have a story.....I was at a grocery store in my car finishing up some work. When all of a sudden a car parked next to me and i heard/felt the driver slam the door on my car. I started to roll down the window and the driver bent down looked at me and just gave me a disrespectful look and walked away. (I have a very short temper so me confronting the guy would have landed me in jail) I looked at my door where he hit it and he left a nice size dent along with a big paint chip about the size of a penny. Well i got mad and wrote a nice big F U on his door. I'm not proud of it but at least he won't be doing that again.

a few years back, i came out of my house to see my car missing. then a few seconds later, i see it driving away up the hill. that really sucked. you should have a few friends beat you up in the lot, the sue the lot for not having real cameras but signs that say there is a surveillance system giving you a false sense of security.

Man, if I would have came from work and saw that on my TL, I would have gone ape shit. Sure, with insurance it will be a easy fix, but thats not the point. Its just the principle of the whole damn thing!!! DON'T TOUCH OTHER PEOPLES PROPERTY!!!

Sorry techgeek, wish you luck bro' with resolving this situation.

Man, if I ever caught someone in the act of doing that to my car...let's just say my knuckles would be very sore...

But like everybody said, look at it on the positive side. It's the windshield, that's easily repleaceable, and at no cost to you. However, it would've been much nicer if people just didn't touch your stuff.

A lot of these stories have been cropping up lately, hit and runs, vandalism (myself being one of the victims) what is going on?

Make sure to get OEM glass.
Agreed, OEM glass or OEM glass supplier. I've had the "regular" $250 glass installed and had them replace it with the OEM "acousti glass". Believe it or not, the biggest difference was not wind noise but road noise. I guess it acts as a big speaker.

To the OP, I know your pain, I've had one major door ding, a golf ball come flying over a wall into my hood and grill, and it got keyed. After all this I finally caught the person who both door dinged it and scratched the hell out of it. I beat the hell out of his car in front of him, surprised I didn't break my hand.

I feel really bad about what happened to your car.

Please don't take this the wrong way.

Is there a possibility that you might have p#ssed someone off (accidentally or intententional) on the road on the way to where you were parked and they possibly followed you and got revenge on your car?

If not, sorry for even bringing it up. Stuff happens.

Thats why I would never p#ss someone one off on the road, they may remember car and see it parked somewhere.

Again sorry about what happend to your car.

You're thinking about it wrong.....sort of. Anytime my windshield gets screwed (usually on the highway from a rock), insurance buys me a new one (I pay $100), and voila, I have a crisp, perfectly clean windshield with no nicks.
Every 2-3 years it's nice to have a perfectly clean sheet of glass. But I hear ya, it's like getting violated...

I'm sorry for your incident! Hope all goes well...

Best advice so far. I used to have an '87 Celica that was beat to death. I loved driving that thing because it was stress free. Of course the only drawback was it seemed like I pulled up next to some gorgeous girl at every redlight in that thing. One day a guy pulled into the parking spot next to me at work in an F350 and hit the car with me standing there. He got out with that scared sh*tless look and I said not to worry about it and keyed it. Poor guy didn't know what to do.

LOl this is what I love about this forum you all understand why I am so pissed and don't just blow it off saying "oh it's just a car" or "it's just a windshield insurance will cover it".

Ok so fast forward I called insurance verified I have full coverage (good idea on my part when I signed up for insurance lol) and no deductible so it is covered 100%. Now the problem is the whole OEM vs other glass. Insurance wants me to use safelite and after reading their website they sound ok and they are reputable but they say they use OEE (original equipment equivalent) which of course they claim is the same if not better than OEM. In speaking to friends and you guys here I want OEM for a multitude of reasons least of all being I want it to look the way it did when I got it day 1. Insurance says dealers overcharge yada yada so they may only cover part of it. So I went to dealer spoke to them and they gave me the name of the glass place they use for OEM glass. I am going to call them to find out info about replacing it and cost and such.

KN_TL...I know exactly what you mean I could park in the very last row in the back of a store and inevitably some jerk will park RIGHT next to me. I mean WHY? So freaking annoying.

Blackura_NY...yes VS is way ghetto hence why I am itching to move out and will be soon. But until then have to deal with it.

Jdmspec333...I was considering maybe a lawsuit just to make a point. They have a sign that clearly states it is under 24hr surveillance, I can see a camera (atleast body but looks real from where I stand) and yet they tell me it is fake. I have a lawyer in the family so I will be investigating that

Jeffs99...I definitely didn't piss anyone off on the road. From where I live to where I park is about 10 minutes away maybe. And most important if there is a, shall we say, road altercation (meaning some beeping because they are too stupid to drive) then I am very weary of where I park especially if that person is going into the same parking lot as me. But overall I am a very calm driver I don't bother anyone so I can't see it being directed to me specifically though who the hell knows at this point. All I do know is my car will be safely left at my house from now on during the week.

Greco9985...I have been toying with that idea even before this happened because I wanted to keep my car in perfect condition. But then I am like why did I buy such a nice car only to hide it and not take it anywhere. Luckily the train station isn't too far from me so I guess I'll be walking it.

Though what happened sucked it has given me an idea that I am pretty sure people like us (car lovers) would love so I am looking into that now. From tragedy comes something positive

definitely understand that, but IMO, its better to be safe that sorry. another thing is, people are so inconsiderate. once they get off that train, then run like they just stole something to their car, and jump in, slam their door into the car next to them and speed off.

i cant imagine there being that many nice cars at VS train station, next time take a look and try to find the most expensive car, if u car is the only one, id definitely buy a beater lol

LOL greco...the funny thing about VS is people buy these fancy expensive cars and then live in like shitty apts and don't care of anything. I might look into a clunker I dunno...would certainly save my nerves and let me park carefree
