extended warranty
my 07 will be out of warranty in november.
im considering getting an extended warranty from acura.
are the warranty prices the same among all acura dealerships,
or can you shop around for a better price?
im looking for bumper to bumper,no deductible.
do you have a choice of how many years for coverage or is it a set number of years?
any info?

I have a 06 TL and did not purchase an extended warranty for it. This is our 5th Honda car in the last 30 years and never needed one before. With the exception of maintenance items-Honda cars just don't break-at least I thought.
My experience last week has changed my mind. I had to get the HFL unit replaced. Incresingly, members are reporting woes with the unexpected HFL problems causing dead batteries and outright failed units. Honda is denying "Good Will" repairs if you are out of warranty as they consider hands free a convienience and not a safety item. Out of warranty repair is more than $650 MSRP for parts alone. So with 100% hindsight-if we buy another honda product, we would likely buy the extended warranty. Don't get me wrong-I feel Hondas are exceptionally reliable-but as a sign of the times-they like many companies are not standing up behind their obvious mistakes.
Whatever plan you buy-make sure it covers the technology items like HFL and Navi. While my tech could not say there is a problem with the HFL-when I asked if I would have to replace the unit again in four years-he said many do not last that long. Alot of folks are going to have HFL problems.

Curry and Bernardi are the two I saw online. For my 2007 TL still w/in 4 / 50, Bernardi had the lower price by about $50. YMMV. Bernardi also finances at 0% interest over 1 year (although there is a $30 fee to do so, so there is a financing cost).

I have an Acura TL 2006 (38000 miles) and my warranty is going to get expired in a week. So, I am looking around online for some dealers that can offer an Extended Warranty at a decent price but I am not very familiar with the various kinds of extended warranties available, price nor 2006 Acura's history. So, I would like to take the experts opinion:
(1) What kind of extended warranty should I consider taking it based on 2006's history. In other words, if Acura might face some problems after 6 or 7 years, I would rather go for an additional 4 years of extended warranty otherwise will go for 2.
(2) What is the reasonable price that I can put for a 4 years extended warranty (without bumper to bumper)
Any other thoughts or inputs would be really helpful.
Thank you much !!
