Ive got an 05 TL and my factory warranty is up in April.
Its gonna run me about $1150 with a $100 deductible and covers just about everything any other warranty will and its through Honda.

I got an extended warranty through Lexus where I bought my car. It was a 5 year 60000 mile warranty and it cost me 1800. I figured what the hell. Especially with the 3rd gear issues on the M/T.

if its through honda ad they are teamed up with MBP then i would not recommend it for several reasons:
I paid about 19,000 for it and they said everything was covered under the warranty but i found out it wasnt
one example: my radiator starts to leak and i called them and they told me to take it to the Honda Dealership where i got the car from which is 2 hours away and i didnt want to drive that much with a leaking radiator so they told me to go to my local Firestone shop.
So i took it there and at first they said they dont know nothing about this warranty or any affliation with MBP so they got on the phone and finally agreed on it. They said to check what was going on and before they start to do any repair they must call MBP to see if it is covered or not. After doing a coolant test they found out that the radiator has a corrosion from leakage and the radiator needs to be replaced. The tech calls then and tells them that and in respond they said that is not covered under the warranty due to corrosion. (the day before they told me if the radiator is damaged and is leaking and is not clogged up then it is covered) After reminding them of this they still said NO and i had to pay 35 bucks for the coolant test.

A slight difference in the Acura warranty:
Acura will repair or replace any part that is defective in material or workmanship under normal use.
All repairs or replacements under this warranty will be made free of charge with no deductible.
The repaired or replaced parts are covered until the Acura Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty expires.

Also what are the third gear issues?

I just used my warranty today to replace my power steering reservoir and hoses. Some or many of the M/T TLs have an issue with grinding or popping out of 3rd gear. Many people use GM Syncromesh transmission fluid and it seems to fix many of the cases but some are bad enough that the transmission needs to be torn apart to fix it. I might consider the warranty. It's really up to you though

I am so glad I found this out. Mine grids this sometimes or pops out. I just figured it was me doing something wrong. My car is still under lease if I bring it to the dealership will they do something with it? I want to get it fixed because I am buying the car when the lease is up.

it's me, Alan Rickman.
Dude.. get it.. so far my ext. warranty has covered:
Nav ECU
3 Axles
3 Power steering pumps
1 Knuckle / hub assembly
HID Ignitor
HID Controller/Regulator
I purchased the Acura Care 100k / $0 deductible warranty; got a great deal and it has paid for itself several times over!
